Account Splitting... Again...

I know that GOA have said that it will come.. after New Frontiers.. Catacombs.. or what ever next project there is planned...

I also know that there is alot more people than me with an extra copy of DAoC just waiting for account splitting to come so we can activate that new account and start to pay double money to GOA..

If I was running GOA that would make me intrested and put some people to make this possible quite soon. I can not imagine it to be that kind of big problem. After all, the function is there, just make that billing system working cant be a three week job.

Hopefully by making this post, other people that also want this account splitting will sign up and make GOA see how much money they would make by fixing this.

And please spare all buffbot flames and thing. There are actually people that want to split accounts for other reasons.

And I think I speak for almost all of us when I say: Please dont spare any ressources on getting NF on servers in favor of account splitting.

GOA probably have to give Mythic a share before they get their profits, so quit whining, you dont speak for everyone. They dont do a bad job at all.

You cant tranfer chars to an old account, it has to be newly activated.

Sorry, but I dont see how account splitting could help you with getting rid of accounts - more likely the opposite since, as far as I know, you need a clean account for account splitting.

In order to perform the character transfer process, you will need a game client that has no characters stored on it. (You may use an existing account that you have deleted ALL characters from the server you're trying to split to.

2. transfer chars from first account to new account
3. transfer chars from second account to new account
4. close down the original two accounts

est voila 1 account with all your chars on, that's how u reduce the number of accounts u have using account splitting

That wouldn't work, as far as I understand it anyway.

One transfer of 4 chars would have to take place before the other, at which point the new account would no longer be "virginal", it'd have four chars on it. The second transfer could then not take place.

If they'd do both transfers simultaneously, that'd work then, but I think we'll have to wait till they announce it officially to find out what they will/won't offer along those lines.

afik in the states the way it works is the account is still classed as 'virginal' as long as its still in the 30 day free period.

sorry my bad, been reading vnbaords recently about this and cos the yanks tend to yabber on a bit i only scan the posts, someone mentioned it would be good if you could .. etc, and i missed the first part hehe

The underlined parts doesn't make any sense and FAQ leaves tons of questions oO In other words I could stransfer characters to Mid/Excal if I delete all the characters there but I could still keep the Hib/Pryd characters? This would work for an existing account but not for a brand new?

Q: I JUST finally broke down and bought my own copies of the game, and started a character over again… and then you announce the account splitting. AARGH. I’m only level seven, anything I can do?

A: Yes, delete the lowbie. Just be sure to delete EVERY character on the new account. All of them. Even that level one you accidentally rolled up on the wrong server. The new account (with all the same expansions as the source account) must be completely empty in order to work.

So after all I couldn't keep the Hib/Pryd characters? Or is this reply just for a owner of brand new account?
