Been updating windows XP through Auto updates

Ive downloaded a shit load of updates and next inline is Service pack 2

IT downloads and trys to install and at the end i get ACCESS DENIED all the time, yet my Windows xp product key is genuine

Download this and try if it works :cool: Oh, lots of the "shit load of updates" you downloaded are included in SP2 so in the future install Windows ->SP1 -> SP2 -> patches :p

access denied normally has nothing to do with it being a genuine install of windows.

- Certain viruses can read lock windows files to prevent windows updater from performing updates.
- After fixing any viruses use msconfig (type 'msconfig' from the cmd prompt or the run start menu option) to prevent any unknown or unnecesary programs and services from starting up.
- also ensure you are logged in on a user with admin rights. certain updates require admin access.
