About point system

would u like to set up a top ? for example 100 points, and all points u get after that top will be given for the next item u will take, for example , imagine i have 235 points

235 = 100 + 100 + 35

it will mean that i will have 100 points to waste in 1 item, when i get that item, i will have other 100 points to aste in the other item, and after getting those 2, i will have 35 to waste in a third item

this will increase the oportunity of getting an item, to those people who cant come to all raids , and this will increase the numbers of items that 1 guy will have points to waste

so the people who come to all raids, will win more, coming to all, and the people who cant come to all, we will have more choice to get an item he wants

FE points will be decreased to 20 instead of 30 , and normal raids will be on 10

for the people that actually got more than 100 , i will ask them, if they want to keep his points, or if they want to divide his points in 100 + 100 , etc, couse it isnt too fair to divide his points after all the effort he made

well , this is a suggestion, NOT a new rule , need all youre answers/critiks/suggestions etc etc, and if most of people is agree, i will set this like a new rule

this will be a lot of more work to me :p , but if all people like the idea and stop whining will be ok

That sounds good :) 100pts at a time is ok I think.

i think that this would only benefit the high point holders, and not be rly fair to the ones with less or no points at all.. maybe they just have lost ~200 points cos they won, and now is back on 0, after as many raids gone to as the ones that still got their high points...

well just as i think i see it... cant tell any better cos of the fact that it has nevur been done.

if u win, make u go back at 0. will only be fair to the others that just lost their points/the new ones who wanna try out galla... will inspire more to come osv...

hmm, maybze instead of doing it like that u can cap the points somewhere? maybe a bad idea this far gone, but it could prevent ppl from being 'unbeatable'.

Stop at 100 it dosnt matter if u have 240+ points ui have them for a reason..and that is u have been on the raids BUT the stuff u want hasnt dropped so u havnt lost anything really so your 140 points less well off but the max is 100 so it dont matter just look at it like u went on 24 raids u got 10 raids worth of points and u will keep going until the drop u want appears...

seems fair
guys like you/reno do all raids and only get 1 item/15 raids or so

it's fair for peepz with 100 or less points (with extreme luck they can win)
and those with 100+ dont spend countless raids for 1 item only

or just let people be able to buy leftover items with points

that way you will prevent high points scores UNLESS someone _really_ wants an item badly- and he deserves to get his points then

i quite like this idea tbh

as it means that people have a maximum they can reach on each lotto to stop people with 200+ pts ruining the chances of someone with 100 pts who in my opinion has shown just the same willingness to attend albeit there may be a difference in overall attendance

FE raids down to 20 would probably make sense, although perhaps increasing the points on the classes needed most for the FE (shades and voids is my understaind) would maybe increase on attendance of other voideys who wouldnt usually come along.

I think you doing a great job m8 and theres not many who would take up the mantle. Would be good if some web wizard could whack you up some sort of league table java/jdbc thingy to put all the info on and work out all the stuff for ya

Just noticed the vast amount of Galla stuff for sale in the trading area - does this come from FFA raids or private ones generally?
Just a question ...

well the system was good as long as u didnt get 30points per raid, that really ruined it imo, 20points or even 15points sounds more like it, its not 3 times worse than a normal raid...

100 cap per lotto as suggested by XFear seems fair enough to me. Im more in favour of no cap, but that just me and I can see why a 100point cap would be of benefit to those people who arent unemployed and play daoc 24/7 ;)

Imo its almost all from private raids. Everything I sell is from my own solo focus abusing, and the other people who post large lists of items for sale are also well know for raiding galla.

Its simply not worth anyones time to do x amount of XFear raids, grab an item and then sell it, you dont make items fast enough for the time spent. For one XFear raid I could make at most one item, probably more like 3-4 XFear raids to get one decent item that would sell for more than 2p. Whereas solo or grouped you could kill one boss and trash and end up with 4 items for a similar length of time.

Well.
I dont really like the system as it is now. And on the other hand i think its fair.

I say lets peeps get over 100 point if they want. Why ?
Well if i want a uber drop i can spend all my points getting it.
If we cap at 100 i maybe never get the item even if i go on all raods.
And if i went on all raids and had like 3 X 100 they ones getting in on 1-2 raids never can get the "uber" drop...

Maybe litle confusing BUT here comes my idea.

MAny wont come on raids cause they cant/dont have eldies/animist etc etc. So they get less points.. And thus maybe never ever can get the drop they want..

So why not say that all rolls above 95 is uber rolls....
So if i am a noob raider i can still get my uber drop..

I roll 98 and the guy with 500 points roll 1 i still win...

This system makes the it more like a Lotto really.

My 2 cents and tbh i never ever go on FFA galla raids so...

P.s You maybe want to make it so all 100 rolls are uber or 99-10 or something..

xfear that idea works more in favour of long term raiders than part timers...

The point system is only flawed by the fact that it "sometimes" puts the less hardcore player off raiding as he cant compete with others who have more game time...

If you cut off people points into chunks of 100 you actually increase their ability to acquire items in lotteries over players who dont raid with you 24X7. By allowing them to keep their points over a longer period of time or lotteries.

This got out of hand when people started taking 30 points from FE raids where not a lot of good things dropped.

Points should be valuable and a little bit harder to acquire... At the moment the "regulars" are benifitting so much from their raiding that its putting the "part timers" off raiding...

Tbh its a real hard thing to balance right... Imo your system is top class but just a tad unabalanced. It just needs a very minor correction to make it fair so that the dedicated raiders who put the hours in... still benefit... But not the situation we have at the moment where a few people have such a wealth of points that other realise theres not much point in investing 6 hours of there time for something they will never obtain

I would cap points at 50. So you can never be guarenteed an item. I would also give 5 points to those not choosing to lotto. 0 points for peeps that choose to lotto. No extra points for FE raids...

Dunno maybe this way is to unbalanced in favour of the casual player... but having an advantge of 50 points over someone else is still very considerable... but its no guerenteed drop which is the situation we are getting a lot nowadays.

I see all points of view but liek censi said say i wanted a uber bm item and a bm there had 500 points i pretty much know that even when he wins 1st item hes gonna win 4 more before i can , and that would make some ppl think pfft not worth going

Point system looked good at the beguining, now i cba to go to Galla raids cause if a nice item is droped, all that people with toons of points will get it w/o problem.

im in the same situation i haven't been to any of ur galla raids but the FE raids seem like they could b worth it, however i cba to go because ppl with 200+ pts will probably lotto for wutever i want.
Therefore me with 0 pts has no chance of any drops worth while until i've spend 6 hours or so once a week for about 2 months o_O

i think the system is a great idea but at this point its putting ppl off with no points because they have no chance, don't know how this can be solved but theres my 2 cents.

This system is a pain for someone like me, I have been put off the raids due to the fact they have been done on Sundays, i know a recent raid was on Saturday:). I work Mondays as many do, and I needs me beauty sleep hehe. So I have no points to my name, and therefore cannot compete with these uber late morning starters or unemployed ppl. So I guess Ill not get an uber Galla drop :(

I think if the Galla raid was moved permanently to a Saturday more people would definitely turn up. You would have 1 extra gimped hero for sure.

althought if the galla raid was moved to a satruday people who have a life outside the game would not be able to attend

satruday nite is a usual piss up for myself and a good few in teh game so runnin it on sunday is better as thats when everyone is kinda chilling down and gettin ready for the new week

with regards to it lasting long it usually finnishes before 1am which imo isnt late at all and i start work usually at 8am
