Some play football, some roleplay over a ROLEPLAYING GAME. Gosh. :p

Like you don't do some stuff that these peeps would find just...f*cked up.

Like oblimov, speaking of enthusiasm...

" Nikster 50 Bard (1120+ Alch)
ML 10 Perfector RR4L7"

:D

rofl ya got me :p

lol but doing RL stuff in a Roleplay seems kinda freeky to me

Like i roleplay by barding, killing trolls and laughing at dragons, not going to the pub or gettin my leg over :p

In DAoC there's people playing drunks, maniacs and even homosexual trolls (yes...it's disturbing... :eek7: ), or atleast i've seen some in the roleplay department. Also there's weddings in DAoC...

Well, what can i say, some people do use the massive games as a more visual roleplaying enviroment. Marriage, pubs, whatnot, humping a kobold in a pen and paper situation ain't at all freaky, why should it be here.

Just my opinion, ofcourse you have a right to your own.

Not sure if it's better or worse than real life jedi weddings.
At least if it's virtual, it's harming no-one, and you can use any vehicle you want as the wedding car.
Still, it's pretty sad.

Mind you, it could ahve been worse.

Lets see.....

"I now pronounce you man and wookie!"
"Will you take her to be your wife...and sister!"
Lightsaber fight in the ceremony.
Wedding on the death star "You may now kiss the bride, and blow up the world."
The person giving away the bride could be dressed in black armour and cape, helmet included.
The minister could be 3 feet tall, green and wise.
The wedding could open with scrolling yellow text on a black background.

---or---

It could be held in an FPS game
"You may now frag the bride"

It could happen in any japanies roleplay game.
"I know pronounce you small gay husband and impossibly attractive and leggy wife.
The ceremony would have spectaculare lighting effects by the guy with the cool (yet improbobly large) sword.
At least 3 people would turn up swearing revenge, vengence or some such trite.
All guests would be armed and imaculately tailored.
There would be small fury animals all over the place.

Thats all i can think of. Let me go through my games collection and continue later if i can.

Exactly what is the big "sad" part about ingame weddings? People play games for fun, no?

My mother and father were really in love even though they were married for 18 years,

When my father died tragically 4 years ago for 1 year it looked like my mother is going to die after him in sorrow, so please cut the bs about "marrage". She luckily got past the fact of the loss of her love, but I know it wasn't easy for her.

If it can be about happyness in real life, I assure you it is not even near of being "sad" in an online game, where it is not even half as serious as it is "out" here.

Don't be close-minded, it is not good for you/ the people around you, a friendly advice.

I take it this was on an american roleplaying server ? Unless it's on a roleplaying server it's not really a roleplaying game really is it ? Don't think you'd get much of this on excal .

And u can't really compare the kicks that ppl may get from doing this to the long term commitment and happiness of a RL marriage can u?

"its all about opinions" :)

And yes, there have been several ingame weddings on Excal. Including mine, even got a GM made wedding robe (hugs Zargar>. And there's no point on comparing RL and Game weddings. Then again I know several people who have found their love through an online game, leading to a real realtionship. :)

More like too many bad relationships to be honest. I sometimes wonder if they've ever watched a Woody Alan film (Whats new pussycat is a classic), it would be worth looking into before deciding to marry. Just a though.
