Aaaaaaghhhhhhh!!! Help!! Please!!

I bought tribes2, installed it, updated it (many times, manualy and automaticly) and when i try to start it, it gives me the stupid unhandled exeption: c00001d at adress 000007! Now i tried to reinstall it and even used the damn first aid utility, but that damn honkey just wont even start without poping the stupid error message.
I have pentium2, ATI Rage, and huge-ass load of RAM memory, i tried everything and it doesnt work!
Im begining to think that the cd is dammaged or somethin..but it looks fine. What shold i do..WHAT SHOULD I DO!!?? ...waisted 60$ for nothing..i might just go back to the store and throw it in theyre faces. If anyone can help me, PLEASE, DO HELP!

Hi d00d,

Unfortunately this is a common problem some people get with get game.

As I understand the only way round it is to update every single driver on your system.

Other that that I got no idea.

You need at least 12 megabytes of video RAM on the video card. Some Rage cards shipped with 4 or 8 megabytes video ram so might be worth checking.

If the first aid utility passed with no errors then the CD should be fine as all files are intact after install. I'm not sure what you've tried but the page that follows might be of help. It's upto date with fixes and/or workarounds:

i got that error, only when i played it in "opengl" in the options, try change to D3D and see if that helps

Oh gosh , you mean.. Tribes2 crashed?! This is simply ridiculous, this game IS bug free, some MUST be wrong with your box.

Now to be serious; It's not surprising really, this game is down right buggy. If you could be a little more elaborate on your hardware specifications, maybe I can spot what the potential problem is.

OK! I got it! it finally works!! Everyone i know wat's UE and why it is caused! UE is caused because of a not powerfull enuff processor. Messages like: c00005 and c00001d are problems in the processor memory. On the game box, sierra indicated that the game will function with pentium2 300 and 400 and highter. BUT! What those jive-ass turkeys didnt say is that the game is ment for pentium3! It will only function with pentium2 if you have a very powerfull 3d card(geforce, voodoo4,5,etc...).
So there are 2 solutions to UE problem:
1. upgrade your killing machine to pentium3(like i did)
2. or get yourself a fancy video card.
If you can't do nether of those, i strongly suggest you go back to the store and exchange this god-forsaken game for somethin nice like Rune.

Hrm... If the UE's are caused by lack of cpu power i wonder why my duron 700@880 caused them as well?

All ran well before the patch from hell and reverse patch made it even worse...

I didnt feel like trying out all the tricks i could find, i just formatted the harddrive and reinstalled all uke: and now T2 runs smoothly again.

yas, hmm /me is on a 1.1 tbird, gf2gts and 384mb ram....t2 was working fine up till 23115 patch and now, despite reinstalling etc , it dont work whatsoeva...yup u guessed it me old chum 'unhandled exception blah blah blah' is back with a vengeance.....

I even have a p2 with an ati rage.
