I've whined about reavers being turned down for RvR groups in the past, and of course the whine didn't change anything and reavers are still being turned down constantly for RvR groups in favour of merc's/armsmen/paladin's etc.

But today something new happened and a group leader of a emain group turned me down on the basis that he'd had a bad experience with a past reaver e.g. the reaver he last grouped with was being a total noob (always lagging, using PBAOE-DD to break CC, not staying with group etc) and the GL decided his past experience with the class was so bad that it wasn't even worth seeing if i was any good and instead he left as a 7 man group :eek6:

So this goes out to some of the "noob reavers" that do exist... STOP GIVING ALL REAVERS BAD REP'S!!!

This goes out to all of albion... don't take the acts of a few PLed noobs discourage you from grouping reavers, we're a powerful and solid class that will almost always gaurantee wins vs caster groups and we're very powerful against melee groups also.

This goes out to armsman inparticular... be nice to us hybrids, your time will soon be over and soon you will be begging us for RvR groups ;)

Was gonna say mercenaries but yeah I do kinda agree. A badly played reaver can screw up an entire group if they don't know what they are doing whereas a merc at worse could not-assist for example. Okay thats still bad but not as bad as breaking the perfect mezz

True, but if a reaver plays well he can disable a zerg from casting by using PBAOE-debuffs and this will not break CC :) it's just unfortunate "some" of the reavers don't read the guides that are around. But the unfortunate acts of a few should not be seen as how the entire class act's. It's like saying "all necro's are twats" it's just not true there are some decent necro's out there.

lol why armsman inparticular exactly? we havent been popular in a very long time. If you want to have a go at popular tanks, whine at mercs.

Because that was the class of the GL that said no to me ;)... plus because from the sounds of the new RA abilities they lose much of their effectiveness.

Arms lose effectiveness WTF? When have we ever been effective? Especially polearmers.... you think playing a reaver is hard in emain try being an arms, having high det is by no means a guarantee for groups when theres plenty of mercs around with the same det lvl.

One noob in group can screw whole effort, no matter if it is Reaver, Paladin, Cleric, Wizzy or any other class. Neither it is only in RvR... PvE encounter with noob in group can resolve in /release very fast too (happen to me few months ago when cleric did not heal me when I was holding whole aggro and others were just bashing enemies one by one).

God protect us against noobish players

considering new RA: What should say Paladins? They lose 14 points Faith heal and only backup for it is 34 points something, that even doesn't heal themselves. Pretty sucks IMHO. I am really not sure if increased effectivity of MoB will correspond with lose of best Pally RA ever.

Det currently makes a huge impact on people choosing between armsmen and reavers. Imo New frontiers will change that because of purge 3 and det being much more expensive CC will be very ineffective against any class. Also with the new tools reavers get (AE-snare/damage, ability for entire group to evade, duel crit of spells+melee) this will heighten our utility for RvR far above the armsman that can use a x-bow for 60secs...

Tell us something we don't know already, check out the last 3 or 4 topics on Armsman that have been about recently, we havent exactly been quiet about how the class needs vast improvements already let alone when new frontiers comes in.

Being a better choice then an armsman is by no means something to be proud of, the way its going a lemming with a butter knife will be a better choice soon.

But for the record the crossbow RA is being changed anyway.

Not just 1, this was one of the many more funny incidents (he ran out with 7 people rather than taking a reaver)

Well, if you've got difficulties with being turned down as a reaver, try to find an rvr grp with a Necro

Honestly, it might be difficult to get a grp in the beginning, but once you'll have found a few grps, ppl will remember you :) And if you were really useful and played your char well, they'll contact you regularly :)

Yup, because at the time a reaver was no use to us at all. A group of 7 with no sorc, not even a theurg.

Running here to whine about it 10 minutes later is just ever so slightly pathetic ;)

My armsman was last seen in Emain a long long long time ago.

Was playing a different char in the group in question: wasnt the group leader (another arms) ;) This was midday on Thursday, random groups or soloers are the only things seen at the time so ...

My apologies then for wrongly accusing you of not letting someone join your grp to gimp it and seal your fate of d00m :D

Given the gimped setup of the group we did ok. Dunno what it was yesterday with hardly a single alb caster to be seen in Emain ;)
