A question on thanes ... or just Hagrid

Now I just ran out of DF with a bunch of trolls on my tail, thats not unusual tryed that a few times now.

Now for the part I find odd. Some thane named hagrid hits me with his insta lightning for a total of 5 damage, now I have 0 in my resist so I was like Ô_Ô?


Now for the question:
1) Are you (hagrid) speced low in SC?
2) have thanes had there power lowered on spells?
3) Have they always been that bad =) ?

Sounds like that was his pbAoE shout and that you were right at the edge of its range.

Aye, sounds like the right answer, but our problem is that our dd's are resisted WAY to much. even with 48 in SC crap loads of dd's are resisted, and the damage they do and power/end consumption is high.

Spell resists factor Spell level into the calculation now, and we use a Level 44 Insta DD which does often get resisted.

You wont find your Level 48 Thors Full Lightning being resisted much tho.

And no only reason Thanes spells dont hit hard is we have piss poor Piety caps, with +10 at creation mines at 168 which is capped. Thanes dont benefit from acuity buffs and we can only invest in Augment Acuity to boost our Piety.

I see a lot of US people calling for a baseline Acuity buff that DOES effect healing classes and casting hybrids, but whether they include it noone knows.

In light of Patch 1.61 which finally put the Pure Melee classes right out there at the forefront of the Class leader boards Casters are being left further and further behind.

hehe my bad I almost forgot that the AOE had an gfx upgrade some time ago where is throws lightning insted of some cheesy ground effect.

Lol....Im gonna tell Hagrid to go and read this thread if he has missed it as he is an officer in our guild.

Since I have duelled him I fairly sure this wasnt the insta-dd.

ah yes, those demonic familiars i saved u from, i used my quick PBaoe shout, lowest dmg spell a thane has. Would have got me the agro and i guessed it wouldn't do too much dmg to u.

Either way i have about 50 in SC cause of my spell crafted armor (thx bluerock )
