A question about engage ability

The description of engage goes about like this:
The ability to use Endurance to greatly increase the rate to block incoming attacks from a single enemy. This ability can not be used on an opponent that is currently under attack.

If I put a reactive proc to my shield, will it break the engage when it procs?

Just dinged 50 with my warrior and I am unsure about what kind of proc to put into my shield. I like the idea of shield procing when I block with it but I still would like to be able to use the same shield with engage ability.

Reactive Proc's don't work on shields anymore afaik. If they still did though I think they would. I tried using Engage/Insta DD with my Thane and that didn't seem to work.

I think most reactives only work in rvr now, pretty sure about ablative and dot but not sure about reactive heal proc, in pve only haste procs as reactive afaik ^^

To answer the question, yes it breaks engage, even if the proc is resisted.

thane in my guild has a toa shield with heal proc...goes off like mad according to him

he farms DF all day with that beauty

Wierd, reactive heals not worked in pve even before we get toa ... whats the name of the shield he is using ?

Good for him, the arcanium magma infused defender does not fire its heal reactive in pve. (Ml7.7 warrior shield)

my war has same shield and no it doesnt proc in PvE but has in PvP afaik

Shield procs aren't meant to work in PvE anymore, only in RvR. Sodding miss the old days when they did work in PvE though, they were of great help. I've only just returned to daoc and only just found this out

Well, maybe your thane has same shield as my warrior, with a proc that has a chance of going off when the shield hits an enemy, not when an enemy hits the shield? It goes off when I get Brutalize or Slam in. This shield dropped of ML1.1 mob, Sunkaio or whatever.
