Is it just me or has some ppl misunderstod a promis?

For me its not a promis when someone asks me to call her an i say sure i will but i dont for some reason.. ?

For me a promis is only if i say the magic words like: I promis i will call you later!!

am i wrong here?

did not wanna call her an wake her up because i was tired an would go to bed in like 30 mins but then she starts to bitch about me promising i would call her witch i never did!!!l

in this instance it woulda been appropriate (from the birds perspective) to have sent a text message to that effect. eg just say 'thinkin of u, didnt call tho as its late n didnt wanna wake u.'
this way she cant bitch cos a)u come across cute cos u cared bout not wakin her
b) if she was awake an got the message that night she couolda called u
c) u did make some effort in makin 'contact' an gave a reason for not calling thus she cant go paranoid an think u didnt call on purpose for some dark reason

If you say you'll call without *promising* then its a non-contractual personal indication of future activity.
