A Portable Siege Merchant

Bedlam came up with a novel idea a few days ago. She thought wouldn’t it be great if Albion could muster a lot of siege equipment during every siege, to knock out enemy siege more quickly and to bring down doors and walls before the enemy can react. Unfortunately even in diminutive form these pieces of siege equipment are not light, some classes will simply struggle to bring siege to a battle. Other people may use and loose their siege piece and be left with nothing.

So she thought, wouldn’t it be great to have a portable siege merchant. So that players did not need to travel all the way back to Sauvage or Snowdonia to collect that much needed ram. As she felt she was not contributing much in the way of fire power to a siege. She could help in another way.

She would be the portable siege merchant. As a minstrel she could cover ground quickly and would go back and forward to Sauvage collecting siege pieces and then bringing the back to the front. Perhaps if she could recruit some sturdy tanks to the cause, she could bring a lot of siege stuff each trip. She only has 400g on her person, so she cannot afford to give away what she brings but she could become the merchant at the battle front and sell the siege piece to anyone who wanted to use it at cost, saving them the need to go back to Sauvage and giving them more time to shoot, nuke or chop middies and hibbies.

The first time she tried this, (perhaps some people misunderstood her motives), it was not received well, yet I and everyone I have spoken to thinks it is a really good idea. Bedlam is prepared to help again but only if her service is wanted. So I am posting it here to see if it is.

I think it's a nice idea, and as long as it's realistic and doable, i'd say it's great! Having some nice person right at the keep we're sieging, selling engines at cost price would of course be awesome. I'd even happily add in a little tip for it, even if this was not Bedlam's intent.

Why was this not received well when tried? If people doubt Bedlam's motives, i can happily vouch for her, as she is one of the sweetest persons i know in game. :D

I think it's a great idea!

How many times haven't you stood there, just built your palintone, trebuchet or whatever you brought from sauvage. And just after you did, the battle moves to the other side of the keep leaving you prettymuch no other option then /salvage or just leaving it there. If anyone came up up to me at that point and said "Mistah! Mistah!! Beauuuuuutiful siege equioment! Only 200 dollah!!!" i, for one, would deffo buy it.

Good idea mate.

Hope nobody had a go at either of you for it - know you were just trying to help out :) Minor point about siege by the way - its easy to carry enough rams/trebs etc to blitz a keep, but to take keep after keep with little/no rest requires more siege - so raid leaders should be lining up their next set of siege gear from CS/Portable siege merchant even before the curret tower/keep has fallen - Lost count of the number of times we've been hanging around at towers etc sitting on our asses waiting for more gear to arrive :/
Incidentally anyone got a good icer RA spec?Working on mine a little now since minny is a bit boring during long sieges.Sorry to hijack your thread a bit there - PM it to me if you know a decent icer RA spec for say RR4... <waves>

Very good idea, if everyone in Albion had that attitude the realm would be unstoppable. I might even log my mincer on this week and help out before my account expires.
