Has anyone ever heard of http://www.balt.co.uk or http://www.griffin.net.uk as someone is offering me a clan server thats hosted by balt but come through griffen....

Price seems to good to miss but im sceptical

Was that the bloke on bw cs 7 (ff on) trying to sell the server?

He said it was just below a t3 grade line (ohh below a t3 wooooo) for £29 a month?

If I were you I would ask for a trial period, say two weeks/one week charge free. That way u can assess the quality of the server.

Also is he giving u a contract agreement? AUP? Is it a server port or a server to do with as you will?

I know some clans that got very good clan servers recently on very good conns, for about the same price. AFAIK they are all gone for now but I will try and dig out the webby.

Cheers ch3tan.... he was in our mirc room today , bit like a double glazing saleman about 45 mbits connection how good a price it was (£29) etc etc.

We were a little suspect as he said pay by cheque or credit card over the phone not my idea of security to say the least and that this service wasnt advertised either cos hes a frien of someone on the inside.

Well I found the site, its hosted on a 1gig line from what I have been told.

Without stepping on BW's toes (well they aint offerring them at the mo) this is teh blokes webby, although I could not access ti earlier www.babylonmonster.com

And some Ip's of clan servers hosted there already so u can check the speeds out etc.

the traceroute pings look fine etc but it goes through a hostmask wiv janet in front so it could be someone sticking up a server in his bedroom from uni
