A little GC

Its a preview disc with some vids, images, specs, wallpaper etc.

I got one of them...'cept it doesn't have that ghastly quicktime sticker on it \o/

Chucked it now but those discs are very dinky.


Now the question is, do I take a day off work to collect the GC I have ordered from Computer Exchange or do I collect it on the Saturday after.

I ordered one from EB same as game but bastardos did not give me one I will go see my old manager in game and blag some they make good frizbies and hack the edges up a bit killer ninja stars.............

Please forgive me if i am wrong, but doesn't a smaller disk mean that less data can be stored on it? How long will it be before it goes back to the old days of 8 disks for a game.

I cant rember the details but these are DVD disks but ona smaller scale to stop copying and they hold 3gb I think not sure cant remeber long time since I read about GC stats

And the only games that will need 8 disks are the ones full of crappy FMV

i think miyamoto said in an interview that if programers start moaining bout the lack of space, then they aint good programers. or somat similar

Soz not being predantict just found out its 1.5gb of data on a 3inch disk....................And the crappy games with FMV are such as fooking finalfantasy which I would not buy on a ne format as its so boring and shite

You're not wrong there matey.

But even though the bog standard GC can only play these little discs the Panasonic Q Cube can play normal CDs (cos it's a DVD player tray too) and the pirates in Hong Kong have already released GC games burnt on normal CDs for the Panny.

ahh but then the size of teh machine has to grow and also teh cases for teh discs . Why make it big when u can make it smaller and save cash............

well why not:

keep the smaller disks... & shrink the hole size in them so they can't be copied in conventional reader, cos the spindle won't fit...

or make the disks smaller still... lose a mm in diameter and you lose the ability to play them back reliably in anything but the specially made gamecube
