a Heroic Problem

there is one thing that bothers me.

If I choose to go the lw or cs way... it kinda means that i wont be as useful in pve as a s/s hero.

Now, the game is about RvR... but knowing that you will have to exp for 50 lvls... 50 long lvls before you reach the moment where you can rvr and nothing else. Its very important that you enjoy your PvEing aswell.

So, will a lw/cs hero be turned down into groups due not being a s/s?

or being a 50lw/cs, 42 shield, 34 weap, 20 parry.. would that welcome the hero into pve groups due good shield and still being able to do dmg with the 1h and having the 2h for rvr?

But then you think that maybe you would have more use of higher parry in rvr. So would 50lw/cs, 42 shield, 34 or 39 parry and 10-20 1h be better then? But would this be a bad choice for pve? due not being able to do much dmg with the 1h.

mmm i thought s/s can guard weaker classes from arrows and bolts with s/s

You can RvR from L40 and make and impact, if the game was all L50s, then why wud we be here? In fact u can RvR from L35.

Personally, i think the lw/cs shud pull, then the s/s Guard that person. No point havig a wasted s/s pull when the Guard is doing nothing on the tank not getting agy.

Not played a high lvl tank, so can't comment. But sounds like u need to think about your own style. Do u go 'offensive' of 'defensive'. Either way you're good, but s/s better for 'defensive' on weaker classes. Having said that, in RvR u don't often get the chance to play 'tactics' with the class specs - all a bit KEEEEEELLL!!!.

Unless things changed with recent patch (on Euro, P1.5), then Parry does not work in RvR, it has no effect against enemy stlye attacks.

In my oppinion Hybrid heros are more verstile then an only shield/blade or spear/lw specced hero. They are fair enough in PVE (can hold aggro and block loads)and rock in RvsR, becouse they can play as an offender(some heavy dmg output) or defender (guard + intercept + 1 hander against assasins) tank. I had some serious fun in thidranki with my hibrid hero so if iam going to lvl it more it will look like this at lvl 50:

Celtic Spear 50 ( the DAMAGE)
Shield: 42 (slam)
Blades: 34 (good enough in PvE )
Parry: 20 (leftover points, you can bump it to 30 easily)


Spear is better for Celts (dmg is based on STR and dex as i know not sure though)

If you love firbis choose LW that is based on STR only (and you can choose between crush and slash dmg)

Atm my spec is
50 CS (59)
50 Parry (63)
22 Shield (31)
18 Blades (24)

With pbae groups u only need to hold the agro with 18 blades u can do that easy and with 63 parry and 31 shield u have as good defence as a shield hero without the slam

From 40 to 50 i xped with my blades and shield and ca tank easy

i think my final spec with be after respec

50 CS (59)
34 Parry (47)
42 Shield (51)
20 Blades (26)

Since parry is nearly usless in rvr
