I've played around on the classes of camelot program for hours while bored to see what I want my characters to be like. This is what I came up for my bard:

Music-36 (gives the second best AoE mezz available to a bard)
Nurture-43(gives the top speed buff)
Regrowth-33(gives the second best heal available to a bard)

What are your views? Flame all you want :p

 goes back to her sleepy hole waiting for a reply

ps: signatures wrong. I'm lvl 17 now

Having a level 43 Bard I can soundly say that I think Regrowth specced bards are crazy! If you want to be a healer I suggest you play a Druid since they get a much bigger mana pool, heals are more effective and Empathy items are much much easier to find than Charisma items.

When you start fighting tough mobs, especially those that bring friends no matter how high you are specced in Regrowth unless you can successfully mezz you aren't going to keep your group alive. And with such a low spec in Music getting off successful mezzes will be almost impossible. If you spec Music and Regrowth your songs won't be of any beneficial use to your group and the majority of groups want good songs, tanks for endurance and mages for mana (especially at higher levels when you will be PBAoEing).

Either way, you'll most likely always be grouped with a Druid since they can keep their groups healed more efficiently than a bard ever will.

My suggestions for spec is this : Music and Nurture. Why? Music is going to help you solo those lower level 5 - 30. After that soloing as any type of non-weapon specced bards is impossible. You'll get a fantastic DD spell, confusion (which helps with pulling and soloing), mezz spells (for those nasty adds) and lullabies for a mage or healer who has caused too much aggro. Music specc is also where a bard has fun in RvR. There's nothing more pleasing than seeing an area effect mezz hit 15 middies all at once! ;) You can run down enemies and shout at them (DD spell) and then let the tanks knock them out. OR you can pull off a mezz and let your group pick them off one by one.

Nurture secondly - Endurance song is a must for all tanks and quick Xping. Less time sitting while you wait for your tanks to regain endurance. Same goes for mana song. Speed song gets you around quick, so it's quicker to get to XP spots and quicker to get to keeps.

My final spec will be as follows :
Music - 47 (next patch bards get an instant area effect mezz to bring them up to equal standing with the other realms who get instant mezzes). I did plan on 44 for last DD spell, but with news of instant mezz I'm going all the way to47.
Nurture - 43. For last endurance and speed songs. Last mana song isn't until 50 and I'm not about to waste all those points for a song which is only slightly more effective than the previous.
Regrowth - 16. Am still contemplating putting 16 points into Blunts instead. If i don't I will keep them in Regrowth. With 16 Regrowth I am back up healer to a Druid, get the half HP rezz spell and am free to enjoy RvR without wasting mana on healing tanks. (At lvl 9 Regrowth I use all my mana healing one lvl50 tank from half health to full.)

Also, Bards use Charisma. THEY DO NOT USE EMPATHY not even for healing and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Charisma increases your mana pool and makes your spells more effective. The idea is that Bards make people feel better about themselves, and so a more charismatic bard = people feeling better. ;) At the early stages do all the quests you can to get Charisma items because they are VERY VERY hard to come by, the second rarest drop in Hibernia. I'm still using a lvl 8 rung. :p Once you get to the right levels (30+) start visiting Corus Mines where you should be able to get some decent instruments and maybe a Charisma ring. Tidal Sheeries behind Tir Uphorst drop Charisma bracers (lvl33 items) and the pookhas by Druim Ligen drop Charisma mantles.

Most of all enjoy yourself! I think Bards are the best class in Hibernia, but then again I am biased. ;) If you're joining us in Hibernia/Prydwen feel free to drop me a /send if you need any help.
