Isn't Über a german word for over? (or something).

So basically if you're speaking german then yes uber == over. If you're english then it's the venerable dictionary of oxford who presides.

went on a german to english translator thingy, it seems that the english word super in german, is Übermäßig.

this is from some free translator so it might not be accurate

But ubermensch (in Neitchze's books) is normally translated as superman in English not overman.
