Folks,

Been playing the game and wondered if anyone can help with the following things I don't like/annoy me:

  • How do I turn off the silly speech bubbles above the heads of chars/npc's? This was the first thing to go in WoW and I rely on the little chat box as it is less distracting.
  • Talking of the chat box, can I alter the background colour?
  • How do I adjust the sensitivity of the mouse? I run at a high resolution and expect to hardly move my wrist to get anywhere on the screen. At the moment when I want to get from one side to the other it is like driving my mouse to London. Not good.
  • I have Logitech Setpoint and I have bound a keystroke to one of my many mouse buttons. In WoW this keystroke is detected and works whenever I press the mouse button, War just seems to ignore it completely even though I did the key binding.
Cheers for any help offered.

for the chat box, right click on it and it will bring up options.

While we're at it. Is it possible to prevent the text in your chat boxes to fade?

I crossed out the fade text option in settings but it still fades :(

Ive also noticed that WaR doesnt seem to like mouse bottons set on action bars, I set it in secondary and it worked for a bit but then decided it didnt like it again.

Kinda crap actually as I always like to have my main cast on my left side mouse button and quick cast/escapist type moves on pressing the middle moust button. This was great in wow

LSMB - Scorch
MMB - Counterspell
RSMB - Target Nearest Enemy

Cant do this now :(

1: Mouse buttons don't like being pressed more than 1 at a time.
2: There doesn't seem to be a reply function when someone whispers/talks to you. I keep having to type /talk *name*
3: I can't seem to separate the chat windows, I like to have all my talkyness in its own box away from the main chat window.
4: Collision detection in RvR is brilliant, but only against the enemy. With friendlies I find myself getting stuck sometimes.
5: The friends list won't let me add anyone else to it, I only have 10 listed and I even deleted 2 but it still won't work.

2. Use /r to reply.
3. Right click on the chat window tab, create new and the filter selected chat.

I use a Razer Diamondback 3G and it annoyed me to hell that I couldn't get M4, M5 and custom binds to register in Warhammer. Those buttons combined with shift, alt and ctrl have always been heavily used by me in WOW and now i found myself having to spread out abilities on the usual §, 1-5, q, e, f, <, z, x, c v. But that only lasts for a little while, now at 20ish I just have too many abilities.

After a bit of research, mostly on warhammeralliance's forums, i found a way to finally make it work, at least if you're using Vista, which seems to be the problem to begin with.

Go to your razer install-folder and edit the properties of all the exe's to run as administrator and run in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Can't say for sure that it'll work with other software such as Logitech's mouseware etc but it's quite possible.

Worked wonders for me at least :)

Ok, thanks. Will give that a try at some point.

Actually, thinking about it why does the same key binding still work in WoW under the same OS? Don't tell me that because WHO wants to run as administrator everything else does? That will surely suck. (At least the warpatcher thing does).

Oh and I got the same shit with not being able to press m4/m5 if i had the right mousebutton pressed down, solved it by binding m4/m5 to keyboard buttons instead.

For mouse sensitivity ,try adjusting the pointer speed in Setpoint, I have a G5 running high res. and this worked for me, just don't set it too fast, lol
