A few questions

BTO's new Plug and Go (Wires-only) product, stonking good value at £85 for modem and filters with free activiation, atm. Do you think wires-only will be any different to the standard installation, other than the installation that is. In other words, will there be any different service to someone who has had it installed by an engineer?

Any thoughts?

Secondly, the modem that is with the package is the run-of-the-mill Alcatel Speed Touch. Having not found any reviews, anyone got an opinion on it. I believe standard BTO customers currently rent this modem so what's it like?

I'm with ZenADSL and I use the odd, blue, manta-ray-esk modem thing... never had any problems with it in the 5 months I've been using the service. :)

O, tother question. I've got three puters connected, one being the connection pc, others client to that pc for the net con. Will that work on BTO? Does say in their FAQ they don't support that idea, but I gather it still works, can't see why it won't.

Hehe, yeah. They don't support it, which means they don't offer any tech support for sharing problems. Basically, don't ever tell them that you are sharing the connection. There's absolutely nothing stopping you doing it though. I'm just using Windows ICS with my housemate and there are no problems whatsoever. :)

And yes, I do wub the donkeh :p

I think Nildram are still offering their standard USB package at £75 until the end of this month.
