A dummies guide to installing a new bios

I was just wondering how one would install a bios update. I don't need to do one now but since my mate did my last one without showing me I thought I'd ask you clever peeps.

Any general tips or stuff you could tell me. I figure its something you wouldn't want to b0rk .
