Coincedence that Blizzard are releasing a new WoW game content patch this friday, or is it just better business sense to release it on the same day a competitor is releasing an expansion....

Conspiracy theories......... ;)

Friday is the usual server update, blizzard did say that they were going to add the new patch content last friday 18th march, wondered if they held off on purpose to clash with catacombs in europe....

the conspira-zit is still alive and kicking... ;)

WoW EU maintanance/patch day is friday
WoW US maintanance/patch day is earlier in the week (tuesday i think).
DAoC EU Cata release day is thursday

They originally said the 18th but patch wasnt ready then - they worked out the remaining known bugs over the weekend and will patch on this weeks usuall patch days instead.

I really don't think Blizzard would notice/give a rat's ass what Mythic/GOA are doing - in terms of numbers it's a very small rain drop in the ocean.

It would be nice if Blizzard made sure the UK had stocks of the game to buy you cant get wow anywhere unless you want to pay £60+ on e bay.

Yes, because wow has had such little success they are anxiously trying to steal people from other games. Tbh i think they have made enough money to sustain WoW for 3 generations, they don't really care for the competition because-from a financial and not gameplay point of view-they are just light years ahead of everyone else.

true, PL'ing is way more fun then acually playing the game is it not? or bashing at the same mob for eternity seems like alot of fun to....

for many ppl, getting to max level within 20 minutes isnt what we call "fun"

and the reason theres no "quest grind" in DAoC is because Mythic couldent be arsed to acually give out quest rewards that acually was good, apart from the lvl 50 quests. in WoW u get really good and worthwhile items at most levels. my paladin is using a pair of leggings i got at a lvl 20 quest and hes 39 now. and my druid is using a leather tunic that i got from that same quest and hes lvl 30. and both those items kick most of the lvl 30-39 "regular" drops. id like to see that happen in DAoC, ever...... the only reason DAoC is still worth playing is the RvR and i doubt that WoW will do that part better then DAoC tbh.

big companies have departments that think about little details such as this, and that is what makes them as successful as they are. its called competitive business at its best

Catacombs quest rewards are like that. The ones that give items give really good items with a lot of utility. My Valk is still using a level 27 quest ring cos it's so good.

I could think of a few zergers/warriors who would love to get their hands on this beautiful Two-Handed Sword ... imagine the damage Raknarok could do on a wizzie in Epic armour ...

And at the laughable price of 300 gold
