Seeing as how BF is now playable and everything, a couple of things I'd like to sort if anyone can help me ?
Can you get rid of the map in the top r/h corner ? Id like to be able to turn it off/on as nescessary, not have it glaring ther all the bloody time .
And can you limit fps ? Maybe by turning on v-sync ? Atm my fps goes from 100 to 60 and back depending where I am on the map, it would be nice to have it at 60 all the time .

You can turn that map off in the options menu.

Dunno about frame-limiting though.

Hmnn, in options, there is a tick-box (I'm not at home, so no screen-shot for you). I do remember it is the same menu as the one which always you to set the mini-map transparency.

I don't think that turns it off, if I recall it's a tick box for a static map with your icon moving, or vice versa.

I don't see why you'd really want to turn it off anyway. That map should really be the focus of a lot of your attention so you know where you're needed most. Imho anyway

No Scooba is right, that box dont turn it off.
I've turned transparency up to 80% , but that doesnt effect the edges of the box, and so is pretty pointless.
I agree you need the map, but I would prefer to turn it off or on as needed, rather than have it stuck there all the time. I like me games to look nice, and that just don't look right to me .

I think you can cap your FPS by typing something like:

renderer.lockfps <your fps>

or is it

renderer.framerate <your fps>

I've seen it before but can't remember if the above examples are correct, although i have NO doubt someone will put me right.

You're smoke is green because you have the video resolution set to 16 bit - change to 32 bit and all should be well.

Yeha Ive changed to 32bit and it looks much better, and without a great loss in fps either

This will remove all your HUD except for your gun. * 0=off 1=on

If you really want rid of the mini-map.

Cheers Will, knew you'd find it Ill try that tonight. Im hoping that I'll still be able to use 'm' to bring the map up full size when I need it, and then all will be sorted.
I reckon putting it with the max fps command is probably the right thing, well Ill give it a go anyway .

oh and the medic class personally. Ive not worked out why no one ever shouts for medic though, always do on RtCW , where its a really useful class.

A lot of people chose medic for the "self healing", in close maps like Berlin and Stalingrad the Medic MG is not that much worse than the Assault MG.

Those in the know usually can find the medicine cabinets on any map, and don't forget the APCs either.

Medic is my second choice, the SMG is brutal in close, and you can self-heal and/or help out your comrades.

Gah , that command as well as getting rid of the map also gets rid of the who shot who writing, which I could live with, and also wont let you turn on the map when you need it.
Also... it gets rid of the cross hairs too ! Jeez....
