Another icicle shattered outside on the narrow window slit.
Through this window came a sliver of cold light illuminated the far side of his small cell. He shivered and pulled the stained blanket around his chilled body.
His mind span and his head ached as he rubbed the bruising on his forehead. His teeth chattering he moved over to the narrow window and looked out seeing the same white snow covered mountain peak that had been his companion for a while now, and over the cold whistling wind came the caw of crows, resting somewhere in the dark forests that lay at the base of the motte.
It was a few days now since he had started out from a rainy, but mild, Sauvage Pad. He'd at a fast pace, quickly past the eerie and flanking walls of the milegate, and moved deep into the forest towards the enemys hinterlands. He must have been spotted and trailed, for his entry to the realm was reported by some scout as it was not long before he ran into a group of Midgardians who, playfully attacked him.
He laughed to himself loudly and his breath hung, frozen in the air.
They hadn't killed him, oh no, they had knocked him unconcious and dragged him roughly and blindfolded to one of their keeps. Now he was bound by his mortality, he couldnt hold his breath, as he would pass out and come round, and self harm was far from his mind. There would be no blessed relief this day.
He wondered when the keep would get attacked by Albion, and he hoped he was being held in one that was closer to his realms portal keep than the depths of Yggdra.
So many hopes with so many thoughts.
He turned to go back to kneel in the corner of the room, too try to create a little corner of warmth for himself, as much as his tattered clothing would allow anyway. Shivering some more, he thought of his friends in the realm and hoped they were all well, and fighting the enemy in his stead to gain his vengence why he shivered, incarcerated in his prison.
He knew he would be gone for a while at least.
