I lost all respect for Tom's findings about 6 months ago. Since then we've had his oh-so rushed and frankly, shite initial review of Radeon 8500, The worst console article I think I've ever seen, and now he's recommending a VIA chipset. Ah well, if the backhanders pay the wages........

Time was very nice to ATi compared to a lot of review sites. I got them impression he wanted them to well against Nvidia, and he'd didn't savage them over the 'optimised for quake 3' driver set. He made it clear that the silicon ATi set him was still unfinished, and had a go at Nvidia (he does that a lot) over releasing new Dets on the same day as the Radeon release.

Yeh, his main beef is with Intel for putting marketing contracts with Rambus before customer choice. I mean a PC133 chipset for the P4 ???
