Surely there's an automated way of doing that? I bet you're entering them from a printout. Can't you persuade whoever sourced the data to let you have an electronic copy?

Theyre all reps for a nationwide company.

Some have joined, some left, some married ALL have changed territory numbers (their work areas) since the territories were relocated. THere is no other way.... oh the pain and ive only done 300 (ish)

Work experience is done just before summer holidays isnt it?! :rolleyes:

So?

Find a spoty oik, tell him you will pay him and then sod off down the pub.

Failing that, get an electronic version (ala Summo) and run an update query to amend all the existing ones, an append to add the new ones, and a delete query to remove the old ones.

30 secs, database fixed, tell the boss it will require days, then take the petty cash for a holiday to the nearest pub

what sort of database is it? (SQL, Oracle, etc)
