I'm a big fan of 70's music, mainly bands like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy etc, but there are some seriously catchy pop tunes you might have heard about...

Mr Blue Sky -ELO
Dancing Queen -ABBA
Without You -Harry Nilsson
Blame it on the Boogie - M Jackson

etc.

What's your favourate (not out of those 4), just so I might be reminded of other cool tracks I ain't got?

Anything by the Doobie Brothers.

Not a song called Anything. I can see how that might cause confusion.

Dancing Queen = :(

Anyway, i'd suggest Squeeze (responsible for Cool For Cats) and Queen.

Always liked ELO, Moody Blues, Slade, Bryan Ferry, etc although I couldn't name exact tracks from such bands as I like a number of different ones.

"70s music" covers a lot of ground, doesn't it? But I'm with you. I'm especially fond of the 70s funk sound, shuffling flat beats and wakka-chakka guitar.

Just clawing on to the arse-end of the 70s. And I have to agree.

Transmission, Passover, Atmosphere, She's Lost Control, Disorder and Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Those are your key tracks in my opinion.

That's a great description, heh

You should have mentioned the whole of Closer, a truly classic album.

I wouldn't say arse-end. They'd been together a few years before the end of the decade.

I wonder wtf would have happened if Curtis hadn't died. Imagine if he'd gone to Ibiza with the rest of them in '88 and made Ibiza vs Joy Division or something. Odd.

wasn't Going Underground released in the 80s?

Not trying to be pedantic just that I'm sure it was :)
