Damage Plan/Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell is dead following a bizarre shooting during a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday night. Five people including Darrell were killed and two people were injured when a gun-man jumped onstage and opened fire during the bands first song at Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio just after 10pm.
The gunman ran onto the stage and fired into the band and crowd while many people initially thought he was part of the act. A security guard tackled the gunman, and the gunman was shot dead.
Dimebag Darrell, born Darrell Lance Abbott in Dallas, Texas on August 20, 1966 formed the legendary heavy metal group Pantera in 1982 with his brother Vinnie Paul on drums and bassist Rex Smith. Vinnie is also a member of Damage Plan.
