Looks like it's got a long way to go yet, can only generate white images, and makes a helluva noise while it's doing so - but!

wow... i see military strategists leaning over a massive digital landscape showing the deserts of the middle east, WWIII is in full swing with over 200,000,000 troops holding against a rising tide of warriors from the Eastern states. Logistics are off the scale with so much hardware being rolled across the desert the ground shakes constantly as they discuss their next tactical move on the newly installed 3D battle map

I wouldnt lean over such a thing for 2 reasons... highpowered laser and hightemperature plasma.

But I think you could make pattern-roasted marshmellows with it.
