3d card

Ok what is the best 3d type card to get for about 100 quid, agp.
Voodoo3 or the TNT2 cards?, is voodoo3 open gl?

Please any comments?

yeh voodoo3 does have a full GL ICD now - but its a bit shite.

TNT2, have been told they're good, but thats it, now I wait for TUG's insolent comments and knowhow

Voodoo 3 3000. I have owned UTNT2's and V3 2000's overclocked to silly speeds and the V3 always won the benchmarks. It has plenty fine 16 bit colour - better than the TNT2's thanks to a smart implementation of alpha blending in the newer drivers which sorta simulate 32bit by getting rid of banding.

Nvidia drivers are a bit naff IMO... I use em on me geforce now (obviously ) but me V3 drivers were way superior in terms of stability and compatibility.

Yes, the TNT2 does 32bit, but its not a fast enough card to use 32bit colour and textures all the time with...

TBH, both the TNT2/V3 are slow for the likes of Q3 and newer games soon to be released will run shite. Might be worth holding out and getting a DDR geforce when the geforce 2 comes out.
