Just a quick question, I have ordered a 32" HDTV thats coming next week and I was wondering if its worth buying the 360 Component cables or should I stick with the cables that came with the 360 Premium?

The cable you got with the premium is the component cable.

All you have to do is plug the component part of it in, flick the switch to hdtv on the bit that connects into your 360, and set your output to 720p or 1080 depending on your tv type from the dashboard.

Thanks, prolly use 720p people keep telling me thats the best for games and 1080p is the best for movies.

It sucks that I bought the 360 at launch cause all the new 360's have HDMI on the back like the elite, which would have been better.

You can always trade it in for an elite if you really need the hdmi connection. I would only recommend doing that if you have a 1080p tv or need the component input for something else and do not have a receiver to switch between inputs.

You should use 720p if your tv's native res is 720, 1080 if it's native res is 1080. People who say otherwise talk bollocks.

Agreed but he might be confused by 1080i which is generally better than 720p for watching films. If he does have 1080p though it is a no brainer.

Yeah my TV supports 1080p, I might try to get hold of an elite then use the component for the Wii.

Get an AV Amp and use HDMI for everything!

Is it an actual 1080p tv or does it simply accept 1080p inputs and downscale them?

Most tv's have shite scalers, if you are going to let anything scale, let the 360.
