Transition between versions : patches and pre-patches available

The coming version 1.85 and decommission of the New ToA client enables you to download several update files now.
 Download prepatch 1.85 today
The game's transition to version 1.85 is now at hand.. In order to make life simpler after the game's update and lighten the file you need to download you can now download most of the update according to your installation :
 Trials of Atlantis (13.7 Mb)

 Catacombs (29.6 Mb)

 Darkness Rising (23.4 Mb)
Of course you must launch the exe file on patch day only. You will be left with a minor download to suffer when you first log into version 1.85.
Update from New Trials of Atlantis to Catacombs on Friday
The Catacombs expansion has been free since last Wednesday. Those of you playing with the New Trials of Atlantis client - NtoA being the Catacombs graphically enhanced version Trials of Atlantis- may now download the patch this url .
With it you can enjoy the entire Catacombs expansion. From Friday morning onwards the NToA clients which connect to the game will automatically update to the Catacombs client.
Those of you using the Trials of Atlantis client -ToA- may still get the Catacombs expansion if they so desire in the Download section. You may also choose to carry on using the ToA client.

So only Catacombs clients as a minimum now? kinda makes me dual logging useless :/ can't play x2 cata clients on one pc :( especially in RvR..

so its not just me that finds the cata engine laggy and cumbersome?
dont rvr in cata mode as it loads models and while doing that some rr11 caster is busy nuking me to oblivion in 3 seconds flat.

toa, nice n smooth, can dual log acc's on it. no chance doing that on cata tho.

however it does say you can continue to play in toa mode right at the bottom? but they are discontinuing it?

they are discontinuing "NEW Trials of atlantis", the free version they gave to everyone who didnt pay for the expansion when it came out. (they are upgrading the free NEW ToA to Free cata)

but they are continuing to support "Trials of Atlantis" i.e. the client you can install from the ToA CD, presuming you actually bought it.

even still with cata for dual logging, if you turn off cata models, fancy shadows/water etc, then it shouldnt lag.

How many more times does it need to get explained

New TOA is NOT TOA ... it's a different client. A TOA client that uses the Catacomb graphics without allowing access to the Catacomb zones. But since Catacombs is now free they will not support New TOA anymore because if you want to play with Catacomb graphics you can use the free Catacombs client.

It's not rocket science.
