25 facts of life

1. The badness of a movie is directly proportional to the number of helicopters in it.

2. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight-saving time.

3. People who feel the need to tell you that they have an excellent sense of humor are telling you that they have no sense of humor.

4. The most valuable function performed by the government is entertainment.

5. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests you think shes pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

6. A penny saved is worthless.

7. They can hold all the peace talks they want, but there will never be peace in the Middle East. Billions of years from now, when Earth is hurtling toward the Sun and there is nothing left alive on the planet except a few microorganisms, the microorganisms living in the Middle East will be bitter enemies.

8. The most powerful force in the universe is gossip.

9. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

10. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age 11.

11. There is a very fine line between hobby and mental illness.

12. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

13. There apparently exists, somewhere in Los Angeles, a computer that generates concepts for television sitcoms. When TV executives need a new concept, they turn on this computer; after sorting through millions of possible plot premises, it spits out, THREE QUIRKY BUT ATTRACTIVE YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT, and the executives turn this concept into a show. The next time they need an idea, the computer spits out, SIX QUIRKY BUT ATTRACTIVE YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT. Then the next time, it spits out, FOUR QUIRKY BUT ATTRACTIVE YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT. And so on. We need to locate this computer and destroy it with hammers.

14. Nobody is normal.

15. At least once per year, some group of scientists will become very excited and announce that: * The universe is even bigger than they thought! * There are even more subatomic particles than they thought! * Whatever they announced last year about global warming is wrong.

16. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be meetings.

17. The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy people who are not in them.

18. The value of advertising is that it tells you the exact opposite of what the advertiser actually thinks. For example: * If the advertisement says This is not your fathers Oldsmobile, the advertiser is desperately concerned that this Oldsmobile, like all other Oldsmobiles, appeals primarily to old farts like your father. * If Coke and Pepsi spend billions of dollars to convince you that there are significant differences between these two products, both companies realize that Pepsi and Coke are virtually identical. * If the advertisement strongly suggests that Nike shoes enable athletes to perform amazing feats, Nike wants you to disregard the fact that shoe brand is unrelated to athletic ability. * If Budweiser runs an elaborate advertising campaign stressing the critical importance of a beers born-on date, Budweiser knows this factor has virtually nothing to do with how good a beer tastes.

19. If there really is a God who created the entire universe with all of its glories, and He decides to deliver a message to humanity, He will not use, as His messenger, a person on cable TV with a bad hairstyle.

20. You should not confuse your career with your life.

21. A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.

22. No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.

23. When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

24. Your friends love you anyway.

25. Nobody cares if you cant dance well. Just get up and dance.

Rofl this is soo true, sometimes you meet someone and at first the seem to be really funny, then you realise theyre just spewing out random observations made by every comic you've ever seen on tv and after youve known then for about ooh say 2 months you can set your watch by what theyre going to say.... and they really are the most boring people on the planet.

erm, not true. It's so that kids don't have to walk home from school in the dark. That said, that applied when kids were actually able to WALK to and from school, without insisiting mummy comes and picks them up from less than 300 yards away in her super-uber-mega-thunder-patrol-meister 4x4, or already had mopeds by the time they're 7...

here's some Ez facts for you:

No matter what you've done, where you've been that person at work/down the pub that no one likes who thinks they are the most popular person there has always done it first and done it better.

If you find out something totally origional and really interesting, they knew it first.

No matter the height you drop them from chavs always land on their heads unless you butter their feet.

In every episode of Jerry Springer at least one person who gets interviewed has a tooth missing.

In public toilets there's always one toilet with a crap in it of infinate age due to the fact that it wont flush away, ever. And if you walk in and see it someone is bound to walk in behind you so you cant walk out again because they'll think it's yours, but if you stay in there a whole line will form then if you go out everyone will think its yours and as soon as you leave they'll all immeadiately start talking about you and making plans to start a bill board campaign exposing you as being a non flusher.

One woman in Lecestershire has been trapped in the same public toilet cubical for twenty three years, unable to leave because of the unflushable poo that was already there when she went in. DNA testing is currently in progress to try and prove that she didn't do it.

No one likes it when a random person comes up behind them and jabs them in the rips, yet this practice is still commen and no one quite understands its purpose.

If you have red hair you are guarenteed to have at least five occasions in your life when a complete stranger comes up to you and asks if the carpet matches the curtains.

More people are killed each year by coconuts falling on them than by shark attacks, Steven Speilberg is currently making a movie about it called "Nuts" starring roy scheider as the one member of a tropical community who knows the scale of damage these falling fruits can inflict but the towns folk wont listen to him because its almost tourist season.

A hampster is twice as likely to get toe punted if allowed to play in a ball on the floor than a gerbil.

Sheila McMillan from Glocester is the only person ever to overdose on Fixodent™ whilst applying her dentures, aparantly someone came up and jabbed her in the ribs when she wasnt looking and she swallowed the whole tube.

When faced with impending danger in a nightclub a group of men will automatically link arms and form a circle, chanting "come on Ileane" and try pogoing to safety.

If you are speaking to someone who has an unusual feature about their face (wonkey eye, huge mole, snotty nose, food in teeth) it is impossible not to stare at it.

Halle Berry spelt backwards is Yrr Ebel Lah which is ancient hebrew for "my knife is blunt, hold him down tighter".

also: the more you try not to think about it the more likely you are to blurt out the word in the middle of what would have been an ordinary sentence. an example: would you like another glass of mole?

That is so true !

Only at my local there's quite a few pariahs

- the girl who's slept with the entire football team. Twice. And the match officials. Working her way through the spectatos at mo. Hussy.

- the girl who brings her 3 year old in the pub for 9 hours at a time while she drinks, snorts coke, drops a pill or two, smokes 30 fags, leaves her kid either running around the pub, or trapped in her pram with the plastic cover over and a few coats thrown over the top of it for good measure.

- the bloke who smells of wee and has never cleaned his finger nails or heard of deodorant

- the bloke with the red face, small piggy eyes, and a mad fixed stare at anyone who comes near him within a 40 foot radius (aka "The Bull").

oh no, its far more than 5 times, getting through secondary school already puts you up to about 1000 (depending on the size of your school of course)

hahahaha this is why i said at least tbh people were saying it to me when i was in middle school when puberty was just a far off experience waiting to pounce so i just answered honestly "i dunno they might when i get em" and was a bit bemused by why so many people were interested in something i hadnt got yet lol.
