Ok if you haven't aquired a copy of Episode 18 of season 3 and don't want to see a spoiler then don't look, you have been warned :)

I just had to write something after watching this episode.
I kind of figured he would die in the end as soon as Palmer got the order last episode but it still came as a shock when Jack actually did it, poor Chappelle with one tear running down his face, he may have been a dick a few times but he didn't deserve that, the silent clock countdown was a very nice touch to.

I can't think of any other show where anyone but the main character could die at any moment, I actually thought for a minute when Chase went through that door they where going to find a bomb and the whole building was gonna explode, I guess one major death an episode is enough though.

Best...Episode...Ever.

I've never watched 24. I have no doubt that I'd like it, but some things about it bug me before I've even started.

Like the existence of seasons 2 and 3 for example.

"Ha ha, I have an evil plan, which, just like last year's plan, and the one before, will take exactly 24 hours to foil - except it's not 24 hours at all, but 24 sets of 40 minutes, as the advertisers need to have their say. Mwa Ha ha, you'll never do it in time this time Jack."

Now, I have no trouble suspending disbelief to watch stuff - but surely 24 plays it straight?

You don't really need to watch the previous seasons to start watching a new one, it does help on background for the characters but it's not essential.
They do play it pretty straight, it's amazing they way to end on a cliffhanger every episode.
The main story does take 24 episodes to finish but there are alot of mini stories going on, 16 hours is alot of film time so they need to have alot of stuff going on.
I'm not sure how much an episode of 24 costs to make but I'd hazard a guess it's quite a bit, I suspect they need alot of adverts to pay for the production :)

Jonny, 24 is one of the finest pieces of television making ever. Buy the DVDs, or download all the eps, because I can assure you you won't ever regret it.

Each episode takes place over just less than 60 minutes, the advertising doesn't 'delay' anything, you just don't see 3-4 minutes of whatever is happening while the adverts are on.

24 is pretty addictive aswell, I downloaded 24 season 1 and saw all episodes in like two or three days (well I know you should see them in 24 hours but I'm not that geek). After that I bought season 1 on dvd.

I have to agree, the last episode was the greatest in the shows history.

The current season on Sky One - (season 3?) - started off not as good as last season I thought, but I got hooked a few weeks into it now and it's turned out really great.

Must.... resist...... trying to read that spoiler........... argh!

Oh Wow!! :)

What a moving episode. As well as all the people lining up to take the pills, you have Chapelle dying :) I wonder if it'll be to much for michelle to die as well now. She's got to start showing symptons soon if so.
For a moment I the guy in the hotel that got out was saunders, but that would be silly. Looks like he's planning on releasing the virus anyway. Be good to find out what his motive is other than Jack leaving him for dead.
I do like the way this one is referencing events first mentioned in season 1 as well.

Hehe, must have been watching it at the same time Tom ;)

Just finished watching it and I am genuinely surprised.
It's one of the few occasions when a TV show has actually moved me. (This sentence is tagged as it's pretty obvious what got me)

Season 3 is probably the best technically. The only thing that 1 has over it now is novelty (which has worn off now).

Firstly im watching this through Sky. I was lucky enough to start watching this when Season 2 finished. I borrowed S1 and S2 on DVD which meant no adverts. I was totally addicted to them and just couldnt wait for Season 3. Ive even brought Sky just for 24.

Anyway I havent read anything in this thread and appreciate the blackout to stop me reading it. I just wanted to post and say im a fan of the series. Its a mans Soap Opera tbh

This isn't a spoiler, in episode 18 Saunders mentions a website, it actually has something on it :)

Yep was a good one. The last two episodes are going to be wiked cool.

I wanna see sherry get killed by "accident" when they get that bottle back and I think Jack needs to do blow up half of LA with Thermite Plasma to contain the infection ;) Just like in The Rock

24 is the utter dogs bollox. Never before have I seen a series which has so much agression, emotion, flare, camera work.

These last few episodes have been fucking amazing!

Poor old Chase. Poor old Jack! Poor old PRez! Oh well, not as good an ending as the last two, but quite moving right at the end with Jack breaking down in the truck.

I personally thought that the guy would actually release the virus, and in the next season we would be seeing the aftermath of tens of thousands of deaths, but hey ho maybe next season eh?

Final episode...

A very good season overall but I'm a little disappointed with the final episode didn't quite live up to the previous season finales but I guess overall it's been the best season so far for me after some of the outstanding episodes we have had, rumours are already circulating about major cast members that either won't be in next season at all or will only appear in a few episodes, just a shame we have to wait until January for the next season.
Also I just have to say the guy who played Saunders should be the next James Bond I think he would nail that role :)

I won't include spoilers but by far the best season yet. And tbh the best series of any show I have seen.

Bloody stonking end to a brilliant show. Until January.

I agree stimpy about the James Bond role tbh :)

Jack breaking down was just great. Maybe he's had to many "longest days of his life" :) Can't wait for Series 4. I rekon they're all be back. Tony coming out of jail to help out. Chase working on the floor with kim and probably Jack with a new addiction. An addiction for beanie babies ;)
