2 cleric class guilds'

Im just wondering ive been reading a lot of classic posts (going there myself) and a lot of the group setups only have 2 clerics ?

for example

cleric Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
cleric Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
sorc Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
theurg Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
cabby Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
pally Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
merc Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)
merc Str/Con Dex/Qui dex(base) con(base)

thats 32 buffs with no AF and No Int + no Base str

3 int buffs for the cabby theug sorc

= 35 buffs

and

3 str buffs for the tanks

=38 buffs

that leaves 2 buffs for 2 classes to have a baseline af or such.

And thats asuming the clerics have the concentration pool to actually hit the 20 buff cap. Remember no buffbots and not ml abilitys to increase the buff pool.

anywho just an observation :p just wondered why most of the groups neither have a friar (matter/heat/cold) resists

matter = warlocks heat = hibernian baseline casters

just wondering :D

simple

use charges from DS items ^^
expensive,but fine if you run in a set guild.

Maybe they plan on never going more than 1500 units from a keep so they can use a bb ^^

Or seriously, buffs are gonna be an issue for everyone - mids will need 2 shamans etc. People will just have to accept being less than perfectly buffed, or use more charges from jewelry, or have some selfbuff classes in the group etc. Just as i think the game was once intended :)

mids dont need 2 shamans

trust me,if your going to roll 2 shamans your going to get raped.
mids did it at first on classic server,but by now every mid gg over there knows they're fine with just 1^^

some classes might not be fully buffed all the time (or using AE dex/qui instead of spec for pallys/warrior etc.) but heh.

only need 2 shamans in a group if everyone insists on having endurance buff although i know what you mean but a mid group can easilly get away with

1 aug cave sham
1 aug mend sham
1 pac mend healer
1 aug mend healer
4 x insert any class you want

hibbeh its just a case of

2 x druid 2 x bard (1 bard runs resist chant instead of speed)
4 x any class you want.

anywho i suppose charges are ok but what about the friars resists ?

Thats what i mean, people will have to make do without all buffs

4 x mercs or 3 x mercs and a pally.

heresy going for a mixture of hybrids and primary tanks

Each alb group i#m pretty 100% sure will have a theurg.

well tbh you need to throw away a more useful class to make an alb grp fully buffed, which is kinda sucky :<

On Classic with 2 clerics as only buffers (no friar or heretic) I guess it will only give the most necessary to each char. Like s/c d/q, basecon and basestr for tanks (if thrust or shield user add basedex) and rest as you mentioned.

Cleric, Cleric, Heretic, Sorceror, Theurgist Paladin, Merc, Merc
i.e switching Cabalist for Heretic.

only GG that does well with a heretic that I know of is ICE on gareth.
Gijs being their heretic.

i'm not sure on the peeling capabilities of a heretic,but if he can peel well and has access to stuns/snares then it might be a viable alternative in the caster grp setup: Cleric cleric Sorc cabby theurg minstrel Pally arms/merc where the sorc+cabby cause extension,arms/merc + pally peel off casters and support along with minstrel (insta stun > best way of peeling) and theurg for interrupts.

arms/merc could be replaced by heretic then if it makes a decent peeler.

The buffbot can only buff people that are inside of the group. If you disband the buffer you will loose all the buffs. And the buffs reach for 5000 range.

playing on gareth as a druid my worst nightmare is a group the looks vaguely like this, it changes and i don't know the guild

theurg
paladin


they quite often only have 1 theurg and run a tank instead though


they simply just extend backwards the whole time with their 3 pets interrupting support plus 2 theurgs pet spammin anything else

Concer,Xartidon,Venganza and co ^^

they are pretty hard to fight,only times ive defeated em was in a full GG where I replaced eld (with Fate and with RR f.e)
they usualy had a GG going during EU times,or half GG with a few pick ups (I remember Digi and supgao being in their pugs all the time ~)

and yeah,that tactic is called Extension ^^
PUG does it also on that server,its the <free rps> invention ^^
