Was standing there with my necro last night. Talked to a pally, cleared the way for him, buffed him and gratz'ed him when he came back out.
Didn't mention not getting credit, and he said he'd done it first try.

Try again tonight, maybe it was just bad luck.

2.8 doesn't usually bug, certainly I've never seen it bug ever.
However there is a fairly common way in which you may not get credit. If you're using a very high damage class such as a nuker, you may kill him too fast.
When the mob reaches about 10% life a flag goes up that will grant you credit when he dies. If he drops from >10% to 0 in one shot, this flag doesn't get a chance to be set and so you don't get credit.
Nuke him down to about 15% and then finish him off with smaller nukes to be sure. Remember you can step back off the pad to heal or rest at any point.

Had to do it 3 times on Sunday before I finally got credit on my theurg. The problem is basically what Requiel has said, if you kill him quick, like casters should, then he will actually die instead of just porting back down at 10% or whatever it is, thus giving you credit.

The way I got it to work was to root him first, then let him hit me a few times (he didn't hit me once the first 2 times so I thought this might have something to do with it) then slowly nuke him down leaving a few seconds between each hit. That time he ported away at roughly 10%, and gave me credit.

Its damn annoying, and needs to be looked at.
