No. No. No. No. No. No servers run it (none with any sense that is thanks to the ability to take down the servers in the 1.29 patches). Stick with 1.27g/h, until 1.29 moves out of beta.
Personally I would use a double install or use a 1.27<-->1.29 switcher which u can download out there if you dont have room for 2 installs.
Theres more 1.29 servers out there (2000 servers/2000 players on 1.29, 540 servers 425 players on 1.27). So theres a lot of choice out there, its only really a lot of the Uk which is behind the times. I'm playing 1.29 with the new effects, mods and maps on the NGI 1.29 servers, and rarely play on 1.27 these days. The crashing bug was fixed ages back btw, and theres better protection on 1.29.
For those who say don't upgrade cos its a beta I guess are not realising 1.27 is still a beta. Go and check on the Ids ftp.
Anyways, have the best of both worlds and play with both releases is the best option I reckon. If you need a switcher from 1.27 and back I can send u one if u need. Dig me out in #actf.org if u can't find it.
BW servers use 1.27g, so if you want to play on BW, do not upgrade to 1.29. I presume BW will upgrade to 1.30 when that comes out as it won't be a beta.
