While revising "Hawk Roosting" by Ted Hughes I thought of changing it slightly to resemble DAoC. This is entirely opinion based, and I do not want to cause any arguements. I thought it held a particular relevance to the Berserker/Shadowzerker because the stories are quite alike. Within Hawk Roosting, the Hawk thinks that it is the best, but we the reader know that they are infact growing rare because of humans killing them. Well, as Berserkers/Shadowzerkers are uber (in my opinion), and they are getting gimped soon, it seemed to close to be true.
I sit amidst the wood, my eyes closed.
Inaction, no falsifying dream
Between my hooked axes and strong feet:
Or in sleep rehearse perfect kills and snigger.
The convenience of the left axe!
The overwhelming damage
is of advantage to me;
And the earth's face upward for my inspection.
My hands are locked upon the gleaming weapons.
It took the whole of DAoC
To produce a character this uber:
Now I hold dead Hibs in my hand
Run up, and kill them all -
I kill where I please because it is all mine.
There is no sophistry in my body:
All I need to do is spam a style -
The allotment of death.
For the one path of my flight is direct
Through the bones of the living.
No arguments assert my right:
The sun is behind me.
Nothing has changed since I began.
My eye has permitted no change.
I am going to keep things like this.
And yes, before you ask, my lvl 17 hero got owned by a Shadowzerker in bg0 who didn't even have to use backstab ie. I got out tanked by a stealther. My Hero has now been deleted anyway. Please don't get in any big arguements over this. It's just another stupid thing I've thought up
