NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- All players receive a free Mythic Respec. To use, go to your trainer and type "/respec Mythic" (without the quotes) in the command line.

Just a normal respec that you dont lose when a new patch is brought out.

Edit , got this from the 1.84 patch notes.

A new method for respecializing (/respec) has been added to the game, for cases in which some classes may be provided a respec for changes made to them during the patch cyle. This new "Mythic respec" is used by visiting one's trainer and typing the command "/respec mythic". This is a full respec and it will generate the usual confirmation window. Please also note that this type of respec does not expire and will not be deleted even if the character levels before using it.

easy. Till now they gave forced respecs cause they didn't want to crash the single/all respecs ppl still had on their chars and might have bought with lots of money. So instead of that forced respec, people get that new type =)

My first ever 50 chat is also totally fucked up, I made an elven champ and put like points in str & int or something.

doubt everybody will get a free mythic respec, my guess is its pend only? Nothing on herald and they are getting 1.85 tomorrow.

If I remember correctly, they said (quite some time ago though), that a race/starting point respect is not possible, because the data produced during the creation is so deeply rooted in the code, that it´s not possible to change it. Now, as we all know "impossible" is the gaming industries equivalent of "gosh, that requires a lot of work and it might even cause problems!".
A race and starting point respec would indeed be awesome. I think it´s a bit unfair to all the older players, that they´re forced to play with a permanent drawback because they didn´t know better at the time they started and thought that a charismatic Paladin would be a cool. While stats are not that important with all the ToA high end templates, races certainly are. Play and avalonian and all enemy mousepointers will show heavy magnetic effects on your character.

But then, I also never understood Mythics obsession with auto-train, which only encourages people to powerlevel toons instead of playing them "naturally". *shrug*

They didn't say it was impossible, I read somewhere on VNboard where Sanya replied that it would take alot of resources to make a starting points respec due to having to alter "root" code as you call it.
So if they would do a race/starting point respec patch it would mean that would be the only thing that would be brought into the new patch as they would have to spend all their resources on it.

Q: Is Mythic planning on, or even already working on a way to insert a Starting Stats Respec? Looking back at the beginning of DAoC shows that you guys told us to put our points in the wrong places on a few classes.

I know I wouldn't mind fixing a few toons' starting points!


A: You and me both. This isn't something we can do in a single patch, because it’s so inextricably linked with your character data. Can you say emergency character reset? I have nightmares about this.

But I continue to request it as a feature as soon as it becomes technically possible for our current team, because we've all been there.
