===================================

Dark Age of Camelot
Test Version 1.73l Release Notes
Catacombs Unearthed
December 2, 2004

===================================

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- Fixed a bug which caused the current camera mode setting to reset when zoning.

Visual Quest Indicator

Since Dark Age of Camelot's launch, the number of quests in the world has risen dramatically. Quest NPCs for a particular level are often difficult to find, even with the help of town criers and class trainers. We have added a visual indicator in order to help players easily locate NPCs that will offer quests for their character.

- Players will now see a yellow indicator under an NPC's feet if the NPC offers a quest for the player.

- If the player is more than 15 levels above the quest's minimum level, the yellow indicator will not be displayed on the NPC.

- Bounty quests and one time drop quests will not display a quest indicator.

In-Game Map Changes

- You will now see pip indicators for your group members on the map window. These indicators will slowly update as your group members move throughout the zone map.

CLASSIC CAMELOT WORLD NOTES

General

- There are now portal NPCs in the capital cities. Channeler Deng'ani, Channeler Garl, and Channeler Sidral can be found in the main hall areas of Camelot, Jordheim, and Tir na Nog, respectively.

- All base trainers in the starting cities will now summon a guide for players to take them to the new user quest giver.

SHROUDED ISLES WORLD NOTES

Item Notes

- Players should now be able to sell lackluster scales that drop from various drakorans in Avalon City to NPC merchants.

TRIALS OF ATLANTIS WORLD NOTES

Volcanus Encounters

- Trial 6.4 - Added a failsafe to the encounter to allow it to spawn in the event that the uraeus snakes are stuck and cannot move towards the encounter area to form the Pallida-Uraei.

Item Notes

- Sinovia's Block (Albion) now has an Armor Factor bonus increase, making it equivalent in imbue to the other items on Sinovia's treasure table.

- Sinovia's Block and Sinovia's Shield (both Albion) have been replaced with Sinovia's Sinister Block (a medium shield) and Sinovia's Sinister Shield (a large shield). Other than the sizes, these two shields are identical in magical bonuses to the original items.

- Players may now apply dye to the following cloaks: Melos Pearl-Edged Cloak, Harpy Feather Cloak, A Healers Embrace, Shades of Mist, and Cloudsong.

- Players may now apply emblems to the following cloaks: Harpy Feather Cloak, A Healers Embrace, Shades of Mist, Cloudsong, Runed Serpent-Blood Cloak, Flayed Cetus Skin, Hardened Cetus Skin, Guardian's Cloak of Anathema, Guardian's Cloak of Wickedness, Katorii's Shroud, Flowing Antalya Shawl, Cloak of Heroes, Cloak of Whispers, Cloak of the Outrider, Cloak of the Seraph, Cloak of the Eternal, Astral Cloak of Heroes, Astral Cloak of Whispers, Astral Cloak of the Outrider, Astral Cloak of the Seraph, Astral Cloak of the Eternal, Steel-feather Cloak, Cloak of Heavenly Bodies, and Feathered Wrap.

FOUNDATIONS NOTES

- Fixed a bug with the terrain in the Brisworthy housing zone not matching the terrain of the neighboring zones. Due to this fix, the roads have been altered and the river has been moved in some areas. Some villages have been moved slightly from their original location to compensate for these changes. Please note that your village will still be in the same approximate area as it was prior to the terrain fix.

- Added a "Search for all Catacombs bonuses" option on the Player Market Search Window.

Market Explorer Changes

With this version, you may now purchase items directly through the Market Explorer. However, the Market Explorer will add a 20% commission for the service of retrieving the item for you.

- At the Market Search Results window, you may now press the "BUY" button with an item highlighted to open a merchant page directly, where you can buy items at the higher price.

- The owner of the Consignment Merchant will receive the standard amount his item is priced for and the Market Explorer will keep the additional 20%.

- Items may be purchased at the normal price by visiting the player's house directly.

Housing Teleporter Changes

In this version, the capital city teleporters have been merged with the existing multidestination house teleporters. With this change, housing now only has one house teleporter.

- The Albion, Isles, and Heroes Teleporter will now offer teleports to Camelot City. This teleporter has been renamed to "Albion Teleporter". In addition to this change, the Camelot Teleporter has been removed from the house hookpoint store and marketplace merchants. Players who wish to sell back their Canelot Teleporter may do so for the full sale price (100 gold) of the NPC.

- The Midgard, Isles, and Heroes Teleporter will now offer teleports to Jordheim. This teleporter has been renamed to "Midgard Teleporter". In addition to this change, the Jordheim Teleporter has been removed from the house hookpoint store and marketplace merchants. Players who wish to sell back their Jordheim Teleporter may do so for the full sale price (100 gold) of the NPC.

- The Hibernia, Isles, and Heroes Teleporter will now offer teleports to Tir na Nog. This teleporter has been renamed to "Hibernia Teleporter". In addition to this change, the Tir na Nog Teleporter has been removed from the house hookpoint store and marketplace merchants. Players who wish to sell back their Tir na Nog Teleporter may do so for the full sale price (100 gold) of the NPC.

Laughable. So on a 20p item you pay 24p with the NPC taking 4p in commision :D Instead of 20% it should be anywhere from 2-5% at most.

Instead of porting the item to the buyer, they should have ported the buyer to the CM. That way you aren't killing additional (impulse) sales, like you are now. The people who don't care about the 20% extra cost are also the ones who would buy more than what the came for initially. Impulse buying is a merchant's friend. :)

20% surcharge what a fucking rip, if the housing zone wasnt layed out in such a retarded way there would be no need for it, whoever said no we wont allow players to buy for free off the ME when the ME was first introduced is a retard and if no one thought of that idea Mythic need a new dev team.

lol at the 20% whines

if it's cheap crap buy it direct

if it's expensive get off you lazy arse and run there - bear in mind 1.72 removes all the zone walls. /houseface, runlock and afk :p

Harpy feather cloak with the Arawn's Undergarments logo (yellow background, green V and a skull) looks odd ;)

it's quite nice dyed purple though.

I did notice the things that they've merrily ripped from WoW but then WoW has very blatantly just taken the best from each game they could find and polished it more so its all swings and roundabouts.

At the end of the day it makes DAoC a better game and thats all I care about when I'm logged in :)

Nice being able to emblem those TOA cloaks. Healing classes now don't have to worry about one that screams KILL ME FIRST! :D

I think its nice, you shoud also remember that the zonewalls goes away in 1.71(?) so lets say you want to buy a powerpot or whatever then you use this, if your going to buy a GoV well, you run there and buy it simple as that.

Actually, most of you are wrong about the zonewalls being removed. Its not in 1.71 nor 1.72. Its in the patch 1.73 called "bla bla destruction of the borders" or something like that. Not trying to be mr correction here. Just making sure you get it right. :p

This just cant be serius? its nice if they remove the damn laming walls, but removing /houseface or /houseloc aint gonna make it better then, can push first 15 houses thats 1-5 from the number i want and the house is still the opesit side of the zone.

And removing runlock is gonna make bb useless, lots of ppl got bbs in combat running into the walls, they ld else. And i always press numlock when i wanna suicide, I port to keep, face the burning keep, press numlock, go afk

Take note of the fullstop. Wasn't the most clear ;) but didn't think you'd read it like that.

1.72 removes the zonewalls.

Therefore, all you need to do to get to a house is /houseface and hit runlock.
Should have used => rather than a . I guess

They are banning afk though ;) honest ;) if you leave your keyboard for any length of time they send round a crack team of assassins to kill you :)

Think you read him wrong, Wazkyr; he meant that when the zonewalls have gone, all you have to do is /houseface, runlock, and go get a beer.

The /houseface and runlock features are not being taken out of the game.

EDIT: Damn you, Flim, you beat me to it :p

And I'm really, really glad they've finally seen sense and let people dye or emblem their arti cloaks; I might even consider getting the Harpy Feather cloak in 1.73 given that wearing it will no longer involve being forced to look as though something that ate something feathery just took a dump on my back. And being forced to look exactly the same as everyone else who got the damn thing.

...

no such luxury in catacombs beta - but the travellers were really handy :) (town criers for the new age) - yellow glowy bits make it even easier :)

impulse buying ruined me when i played :(

went from 30p to about 2p in days, had to try sell most of the stuff on when i realised it was completely useless to me :(
