They finally got round to making DF items on par with the rest of the game:

Old DF saphire belt - Accursed Belt of Might -has gone from:

4% Body/Crush/Slash 10 Str - 30 Utility
6% Body/Crush/Slash 12 Str - 44 Utility

Lots of other items have been upgraded too, basically makign Spellcrafting a complete piece of cake.

This is fantastic. With all the item 'tweaks' that we're seeing, something is clearly wrong.

TG items all have uber SC value
Malmo items have all just been upped.
now..
DF Items are being upped as well?

Not to mention the impending release of items that give:
+X to all melee skills
+X to all magical skills

Whats Mythic going to do? Keep upping items until you'll be able to cap all resists, hits, skills and stats with a single ring? Yay, and everyone will be able to run around Emain in that pretty epic armor they so desperately want to wear :D

How about this: make it absolutely impossible to cap all resists/stats/skills. Divide the stats on ALL items by two. Remove the doubling of the high imbue on SCed items, but likewise divide the imbuability of all crafted items by two.

It creates a situation where people have to customise their characters. Should my character be a fast swinger? Would I prefer to have better defense? Or perhaps more hit points? Do I want to protect myself against Eldritch Nukes or Sorc Mezz? The situation we're getting to, where everyone swings the same, casts the same, hits the same, etc.. is getting plain stupid imo. Any dumbass can run around with his uber-template now. Bring equipment selection back into the game fs.

If Mythic wants to create interest in areas, give us new types of items, not stronger items than the ones we've already got. How about new weapons types? How swamped do you think a new zone would be if they offered a new weapon-type for casters? "OMG I can have something other than a toothpick WOOT". You could even have spec-stones that drop off boss mobs in these zones that allow players to open up their access to the specline.

But no, 1D-Mythic will keep just upping the power on new items in order to attract attention. Don't they realise their margin on this activity will be very short-lived, as it is becoming incredibly easy to create a cap SC-template. Once you have one of these, do you really care about PvE anymore?

Sorry if it seems like a total overreaction to a small raise in an lowbie item. Hell, I use this item and will get +1 str and +1 crush out of it. But seriously, Mythic is fucking the equipment side of the game over patch by patch with this, i dunno what to call it, uber-item-whoring? (The act of giving out uber-items in a blatant attempt to get more subscription revenues from the general smacktards who would otherwise quit if they couldnt have templates as good as the serious players?)

Nothing new there. That's been going on since the beginning of games.. There's even a word for it:

Mudflation.

You assume everyone is interested in tweaking their gear for each and every time.. People just want to get everything maxed. People pay for not having to think so much.. You're the exception. ;)

it it really has gotten silly.

Do some quests, get some seals, buy a couple of 99% armours and mix in your epic armour and you can cap MOST classes in everything.

ridiculous, detracts from high level PvE hunting cos tbh very few classes cannot cap all they need off a 99% mix n match suit

Just made new SC and manage to cap all , also manage to fix it so i can swap between 3 hammers not going under cap, going item hunting is going to be so dead soon. Maybe some skalds and sb still need 2 or 3 items but really just give us epic with max all.

Epic Dungeon Chestpieces are still very nice.

Same for the weapons with things like lifedrain proc or end heal proc.

And glows and special looks are always nice. :)

Well based on the new items in DF and the updates to quest items in 1.63

i redesigned my Infs template.

using

99% weapons
99% Jerkin/Sleeves/Helm/Legs/Boots
MP Gloves

i can cap.............

str/con/dex/qui
hits
all 5 skills +11 (no swapping around)
25%+ to Slash/Crush/Thrust/Body/Cold/Heat/Matter
15%+ to Spirit/Energy

not bad for a cheap SC template imho
