Just downloaded the housing patch...but


Have they changed password again? cant log in cause wrong account or password.....any1 else have this problem?

You just downloaded US version m8

Unless you have a US account I guess you have the wrong username and password

Check other threads before posting maybe

Same problem here this morning. Same as last week, the update.dat is pointing at the yank servers again. I tried changing the update.dat file by deleting the contents and putting this in:

Mythic Patch
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat

Guess what? Still nothing!

I've just run a tracert to the IP address and get no responce. Tracert to Prydwen works fine so my guess is that the patch server is fubar. It's a pity I can't check the daoc website for any news though coz that's down too!

It works in most cases, but a game crash can override that attribute.

Does someone know how to fix this??

I downloaded the patch aswell and my PW dont work.. Then I changed the update.dat in shrouded isles and in normal daoc and it still dont work.. How do fix this?????

I can run DAOC with ouy connecting to the update server , and just by running the login.dll ,

Do not need to give out any passwords or user names for DAOC accounts. Works for SI , and classic . Only tested in winXP

just create at .BAT file and add the following lines

echo off
start login.dll

Save the file and put it in you root install directory which is the same place as the camelot.exe

Either make a new short cut or if you want the .BAT on you desktop then change the following line

start login.dll

TO

start <install path>login.dll

ie install path if on the C drive

C:\shrouded Isle\login.dll for the default install

will work for any account and any version , secruity on accounts is not broken. when you run it just enter you game password
as normal

EDIT

For windows 95 / 98 /98 SE and ME try

run or call inplace of start

For win 2k / XP

start works fine

Also , for making a .BAT file in any windows first open
My computer and see the Hard drives

then go to the menu's , Tool>Folder Options>View Tab> uncheck hide extensions for know file types.

apply then Ok

next create a new text file "Text document"

then name it <noupdate>.BAT

noupdate can be anything you want

then add the lines i mentioned above
