1.63 on 1.60 server?

i downloaded the patch this morning, now when i try to log on it tells me my account or password are incorrect (i have checked this many times, and yes it is the right password) i was told that i am trying to run a 1.63 patch on a 1.60 server and that theres a forum on here which can help me, but damn'd if i can find it, can someone please either tell me how to fix this or direct me to the forum

You just need to quit DAOC - change the update.dat files to point back to the euro servers, then run the game again - it will patch back to 1.60 and allow you to login normaly.

Done this numerous times myself it really does work.

aye, but after changing the files, i cant even open si, i was supposed to open it with notepad wasnt i?
