I had some trouble with my connection 2day. I kept getting booted from the game.
When i logged on last time, the game downloaded a patch. When it was done downloading the 11.8 mb, it now says gameversion 1.60b, and i cant log inn anymore. I get the message: "account or password incorrect".

Anyone know whats going on/ experienced the same??

Its patched you via the American servers, There is a fix deleting a certain file which i forget

Id just reinstall if i were you.

Getting this today. Tried update.dat fix listed in other notes, and reinstalling. Keeps reverting my update.dat to the US one, I guess the patch sever is down...

You need to open the update.dat file in Notepad (or its equivalent) and then make sure you have the following info in it:

Mythic Patch
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat


If you have 10 ip addresses listed, you have the US version. Just copy and paste the above over the top into your update.dat file.

You can then also make the update.dat file a readonly file until you know GOA are going to patch the servers to 1.60 and then you take the read-only definition off the file.

I did a search, thats how I ended up at this post.

I also contributed to this thread because it was the latest post on the topic and my problem was definatly a temporal one, and I was looking to see if anyone else was encoutering this problem on the day of posting.

'SI trouble shooting' didnt really seem to be the right post for my comments, besides which the information is innacurate.

There arent any circumstances under which a reinstall would really help this. If re-adding the update.dat lines doesnt work (because it reverts), then the problem is caused by the patch server still being down.

Yes I could re-install the game. Would it help??

Well, only in that it would give the patch servers about an hour to come back up. So everyone who says 'reinstall' is probably a victim of circumstance.

btw, this is an area to 'help' people, not troll them Come to a technical support forum and flame people with shit like RTFF is lame, especially when you have nothing helpfull to add.

oh and how can SI troubleshooting tips NOT help you? there is an EXACT description of what to do in the aforementioned case....

yes patchserver may be down but if the first poster had bothered to search the forum before posting this thread could have been avoided (although I don´t mind boosting my postcount, that can be done elsewhere though, you´re making me waste precious time... well time anyways)

a). Work out what a pun is. Go find a dictionary to help. Or wait till next year at school and they might tell you.
