Any suggestions of a good isp for mobile data?
I'll be connecting Ipaq to T68i to dial (via Bluetooth), need to pick up work emails.

I used Freeserves no ties setup. Thats 0845, and you won't notice any slow connections over a mobile as they are all slow connections :)

I use Supanames 0845 because they are my domain hosts, but like PR says, you won't notice any speed differences between isp's as you're limited to just over 9k and even freeserve can manage that ;)

9.6k all the way, hold on tight yuck!!1

I used a UK2 connection to get things working, Bluetooth isn't that easy to set up :(
It is indeed slow, yet useful for picking up/sending important emails on the go. I can even browse BW on the Ipaq so I have no need to be away for too long :)

Bah, you can't browse these forums from an iPAQ I have 1mb wireless to my iPAQ and it still takes a good 20-30secs to render the tables... Netfront is a little better but not much :(

Which browser are you using? I have a great 56K compact flash modem by Pretec and the forums download and render in Pocket IE (on my HP Jornada) at almost the same speed as on my desktop PC.

As for email, wouldn't it be easier to setup a connection on your phone to download your email and then, if needs be, syncronise that data with your iPAQ? I presume the T68i has IMAP and POP email support (although if you web-based email, I suppose that could be a problem).

Kind Regards

use www.eidosnet.co.uk, thats who I use when my ADSL goes down.

Not many people know about them, you dont need installer software to set-up the connection, and there are no monthyl or set-up fees.

I use PocketIE and I occasionally use Netfront3. Both are very slow. Don't have any problems with most PocketIE friendly pages.

I use Pocket IE, although slow compared to broadband, mobile is OK. Seems to deal with various web pages I've used without any major problems.
As for email, I have the Ipaq sync with my lappy. I've got pop3 set up on the the Ipaq and use Bluetooth to dial up with the T68i. Overall I have everything on the pda I would generally need day to day. I will shortly be buying the video out card for the pda that allows me to plug in to external video, then I can do Powerpoint presentations from the pda.
The only downfall is that I cannot demo our product using the Ipaq. Although most of the time I have a presales guy with me so not a show stopper. It's liberating to go into a meeting with only a pda and mobile phone :)
