I was torn between posting this on the Hardware Forums or in the Music section, but guess i opted for the Music.
Anyway, i just recently purchased a SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 headset from OverclockersUK, it is a nice headset but i have a question:
This headset has to be powered through an actual AMP, i had no idea it had to come with an AMP and i probably wouldnt have chose it if i knew, because it just causes even more clutter around the desk now.
But i have it, so thats that, but when i turn on the headset and get a respectable volume, if there is no music playing (MP3s, Games etc) i will hear a noise which is quite loud in effect, a bit like walking through wooded area and hearing the Cricket (sp?) Insects, it gets quite repetitive.
I think this headset was more inclined to someone who knows about Audio things, the amount of sound-control tuners are quite amazing, so you can modify the Rear, Front, Centre and Vibration of the headset, i would have much prefered a standard one.
The "Cricket" sound goes away if i pick up the AMP, so it seems like something there maybe causing some vibration which is travelling through the headset for some unknown reason.
Again, i dont "do" Audio, so some terms i probably wont understand (Noob terms!!!1)
The sound quality is amazing though, 5.1 speakers directly in your ears!
