Bored of being ganked by full groups in the frontiers, I'd like to set up a "Duelhour" sunday from 16:00 CET - 17:00 CET (or how long we'd like)
Everybody's welcome. don't know what would be a good spot though, was thinking about either midgard or albion frontier since they are not as prone to be overhunted and risk of being ganked by adds is less.
then we'd still have to find a spot where the keepguards do not roam. I don't know where that is except for somewhere before the milegates. got a good spot? post a lil' reply here :)

RULES:
self abilities only, that is to say, no outside buffs, no buffbot buffs. only the things you can cast / use yourself
If you want to fight someone walk towards him and /beckon him. if you agree, /beckon him back. fights will start after a mutual /bow


Make it some fair duels and I'm positive it'll be a lot of fun! :)

Kemor told me ingame a while ago, that organised dueling was against the CoC. There used to be duels outside MPK practically every saturday morning, before SI.

Wtf does the bit in bold mean? There is a chance your party will be attacked by patrolls? Or GoA will personally pop some to see to it? :D

okay, I'm gonna ask requiel in a pm what his stance on this is, and ask him to reply here. IMO this shouldn't be against the COC, for the outcome is not fixed, okay there will most likely healers present, but it is not rp farming since it's multiple users against multiple users and non of the duels has a fixed outcome nor does any of the players have the intention of losing.

Prearranging 1-on1s is bad. It's the short end of a large wedge which ends in deliberate RP farming and people getting accused of cross-realming.
So in general:

Saying 'I will be in zone x on date y and looking for people to fight me solo' is ok.

Saying 'I will be at location x at date and time y, we will have some solo fights and give people a chance to buff/rez etc between duels' is not ok.

As it says above, the three realms are supposed to be at war, you are not supposed to communicate between realms directly in matters of realm versus realm warfare and you certainly aren't supposed to organise duelling events where certain classes (rezzers/buffers) are 'off limits'. While we cannot force you to attack enemy characters and cannot insist that you fight every target that you see, colluding with an enemy realm to not attack a valid target can get you into trouble for crossrealming at the very least.

Bah... I guess the game's over for this duel hour then.... :puke:

I feel it's the duty of GOA though to make sure one way or the other that there is some doable RvR then. when walking in Emain all that happens is you'll getting zerged by 3fg's while walking there in your lonely self. When walking in midgard or albion.... totally sh|t happens... and you can sit there for hours in the open without anyone to fight

btw.. this happens in EVERY war... it's called spying. about every country has an entire military disciplin only focussed on infiltrating the enemy and getting information from the inside.

Heh, had a roleplayer whining as hell about duels once, was a duel event in front of mpk ages ago, we duelled lots, always broke the fight when one char was on very low health, then mr roleplayer came and killed everyone resting, yelling on us how lame we were to farm realmpoints in a way like this. ( Hi, Elias in <Order of The Knights Templar>)
So, just wondering (to Requiel), is organised uels ok as long as you don't fight until someone dies?

btw unbuffed id like to see anyone kill anything in 2 secs ;P

and blowing all your RAs too ;)

i know moc for teh win in duels

but unmana + demoralise = 5 second nuke cast time unbuffed and damage of 150 nukes

so i have to say no you wont win

:clap:YES requiel, what if GOA organised an interrealm duel event then, without the possibility of gaining RP's.
There are a load of players that are totally fed up with the rvr cos of all the zerging done by all three realms... it's just hardly possible anymore to have some good 1on1 fairplay rvr

You know, this actually isn't such a bad idea, if organised by GoA themselves.

Look, in the real world we have the olympic games, some of the countries participating are in war with eachother. Can't we have a similar event thing in DAoC? Like.. officially.. *pokes the GMs* :touch:

Anyway, I don't think that it's possible for GoA to turn off realmpoints in a specific zone. Hmmm. Maybe they can create an invisible invincible untargettable mob that hits you for 0 dmg every 5 secs until you exit the zone? That should basically exploit the RPS bug that we see some people abuse in Emain...

hehe, just found out today leadership (ML9 warlord) cancels demoralise. Not sure about if unmana purgable, but u have to get close enuff anyhow. Also, bone commander + orange con mob will take down ur hits as fast as lifetap will regen imo, nm my nukes.

tbh i think most casters with moc and some cc can take a boney down, I dont see the big deal.
