please help optimising s/s Valky template

Hi there,
I would like to ask the more experienced "templaters" here to have a look and help optimising what I did so far. This is for a dwarfen s/s Valky - I expect to solo/duo about 50% of the time and run with PUG's (keeptakes etc. and 8v8) in the other 50%.

I didn't included the new crafted armor (am playing on EU servers) yet, so if I get this right I could throw in like +40HP Cap or 5% heal on arms, +5dex cap or 5% buffs on hands, +5STR cap or 5% power on legs and +10AF or +5acui cap on feet... atm I'd go for +40HP cap, 5% buffs, 5% power, +10AF

What I'd like to see is more HP and +10 spell duration (or was it +11%?) for one more tick at the HoT and +heal for the insta PBAOE heal. (going 31 mending)

Now this Valky will be my first (and prolly only) level50 char on that server - so I am running on a budget. Scrollfarming and getting encounter will be supported by my guild hence the many artifacts. Very rare and expensive pieces are a no-go for me atm.

My feelings so far:
- Stats are ok, though not too much cap-increases, hits are a bit low - well: lower than I actually like it at least
- resists are very good, I actually miss 1 Slash, others are (over)capped
- skills: now this is where the template shines: a whooping +11 sword +11 shield +10 parry
- boni: no "wasted" bonus here, melee speed and damage is great, Af is so-so (sorted with ToA armor)
- artis: GoV, Winged Helm, Battler, SoM, Eerie Darkness Stone - I hope this is doable
- drops/quests: Magma infused defender - this is farmable iirc?, Beaded Stones = Quest, Skyros Belt = Quest, Band of Shadows -> should be easily available too?, Ring of seven Storms... lot's of running to place the Coins in that quest iirc - but can be done, Ebon Hide Bracer = Quest, Naxos abalone Bracer = quest
- crafted gear: 4 pieces a' 99%, SCed. I need good ideas for Alchemy here... what would you recommend?

Same opinion here... I was not able to tweak it into yet :( still trying, though.

Similar template with Traitors and some kind of CC feedback would be ideal - if any1 has an idea - please share!

just whiped this up in about 5 mins and its suprisingly good..... and cheap



has TD main hand CB for CC feed back 38 AF 350+ hits 101 str 80ish con dex an quick heat is 16% and energy is only 5% BUT if you wanted too you could drop the +8 shield and get 14% energy and 23% heat (take the 4sword an 4 shiled off of feet boost dex from 16-19 (to get the extra 1 dex) and but a 9% and 7% resist in its place then change the + 4 shiled on arms to + 4 sword)voila


i didnt include the new armour crafting as i havent seen a calc with it in yet and i think it will be very pricy .... tho ofc u can add 10af powerpool heal bonus ect without haveing to change the template

4 quest items (epic hands, ebon hide, SI necky, cenalons ring of might)
band of shadow -2p
4mp chain... quite expensive but ur guild should be able to help

hm... can't reproduce your numbers with my SC tool - which one did you use? I'll do a 2nd try with Kort later, 1st try was with Moras.

i use korts yes.. i do all my templates manuly as i dont trust computers :p

I just started with Moras years ago and I am used to the priority/sorting system and the insta-preview of changed numbers which helps me a lot because I am not too expereienced here.

Just a sidenote - I don't have DR, so no CL or champion stuff available to me.

Will give it a go in Korts! /bow

blegh - found the first major difference - in Moras the Eerie Stone is listed with 3% resists EACH :(

ye it got booste a while back 4% melee resists an 5% magic (84 util now makes it the highest non rog util in game)

Ofc getting everything perfect MIGHT be possible, but if so... then not with my very limited play time and ressources. But I still want to have fun and build an at least "usable" template.

If you can help with that - any ideas are more than welcome.

Some pointers... I see using a fast weapon is a good idea and would love to include TD... (see template help above) BUT just for the slam-speed of a shield alone I won't give up the neccesary resists and stuff. Should be a well-rounded template to put it in a short sentence.

Ofc getting everything perfect MIGHT be possible, but if so... then not with my very limited play time and ressources. But I still want to have fun and build an at least "usable" template.

If you can help with that - any ideas are more than welcome.

Some pointers... I see using a fast weapon is a good idea and would love to include TD... (see template help above) BUT just for the slam-speed of a shield alone I won't give up the neccesary resists and stuff. Should be a well-rounded template to put it in a short sentence.

well how about getting a medium df shield, or a crafted small one? would give you around 3.0 spd, which means u can slam, and hit like right after slam hits, will give you probally an extra hit, and easier to go slam crazy!

Tbh I got me some DF stuff (you DO mean Darkness Falls, right?) when I was low level from farming the early seals, but with Catacombs I thought the aurulite gear offers better quali... so I never bothered to look at DF imps past lvl35 iirc...

I thought the really top items come from prince/queen/gatekeepers etc. deep down in DF only...

Will give it a go and visit the DF merchs the other day to see what choices I have.

As for crafted... I save money like hell atm... only thing I couldn't resist was a Gaszi Blade for 100g on a CM... pure luxury for me at lvl46 ;)

This is a group template i asume? if so just get a crafted buckler if you just want to go slam happy.. so much cheaper to replace than that piece of shit known as guthlac and just as effective in respect and you can fit it into sc just as easily.... regardless of util etc :x



400-800g for a mp buckler (if you find a nice weapon crafter that doesn't charge you like 10-20p for one... never pay that for a small shield btw.. cost less than 100g to make or somethin like that... highest one)

50p+ for a guthlac shield.... hard choice really!

Got the Brimstone Shield of Bedlam... will see how I do with this, thanks for advice.

Atm with all the nice stuff in my vault I collected it's not easy to make a decent temp with as many of these items included as possible (yes - I know I am silly... but still... this IS a roleplaying game at least by name ;) ) AND having a good mixture (not overdoing things to much and forgetting other important stats etc.)

Will be a funny temp - that's for sure ;) - that'll bring a smile to my face when I run around with it in NF :D

Another question... does anyone here care for PIE in a Valky template? Please say why or why not.

I think since it rises power pool it's a good stat to have.

ye its good to have BUT a valk powerpool can't support prolonged healing, so unless u get 75% powerpool an 101 piety its not worth sacraficing anything else to squeze in
