Assault on Krondon 25th May 7:30pm UK time

It about that time when Krondon needs its arse kicked.. so I'm going to run a raid to make it happen. Never been there so no idea what to expect but its new to me so that makes it interesting.

Details..

Time:- 7:30pm uk time
Date:- 25th May
Loc:- Caer Diogel (Excal)
Targets:- Orylle and any other named mob
BG:- Evlina-e
Loot:- Lottoed after successful raid or total wipe out

If we do this and win hopefully we'll have a laugh, get some kit and bugger to cam for a few beers after... if we die.. well at least we tried.

Any person or people who know what to expect in Krondon feel free to post here.

Well, there is a quest down there, to kill Scurceol Hyrde or some such.

It's obtained in Diogel, and has a bit to do first (one easy kill - but it's only group credit, so do it beforehand).

To kill him, you have to clear the aggro mobs first, then take down three or four generators, in order to harm him.

Used to be done with a big zerg pre-TOA, but tactics have refined somewhat.

Could probably be done by taking each generator to 2%, then just keeping it in combat so it doesn't heal, and dropping them all together when the rest are ready to fight Scurceol. Theurg pets make the generators go down fast. The generators can repop, and he's unbeatable when they are up.

Ah yes I did read about the quest and killing the generators before taking down that mob. Shame the start up is for grp credit only. Do you know if you head right for the main mob you can take it down get the loot etc.. without having to do the quest or is the quest essential for this to work? :]

The quest isn't essential, but why not do it !

There are a lot of other bosses in there, too. The loot isn't massively uber, but nor is it bad, and there is some unique looking armour (including a level 51 version of the chain helm that also drops in Cornwall).

And for those who dont know where to meet.. from camelot get into excal realm then port goth, walk up to goth castle and next to the bind stone there click the teleport dude and select caer diogel

The starting mob for the quest is group credit only but easy to solo for just about anyone other than a cleric, so just get people who want the quest to get past that step before the raid.
It used to be that if you didn't have the quest you couldn't enter his room.. I think they changed that recently, but i'm not 100% sure so the more people with the quest the better.

Also, should anyone get the str/dex belt, my Pally has a desire for it.

(Not for an uber template, but just to convert my uber PvE template into an OK RvR template with a minimum of item swaps)

Will be there as Picksel, Earth Theurg, as he's started the quest already.

The quest is also very very good xp at level 49 (well it was compared with the old xp'ing probably less so when compared with Catacombs

I ran a few raids on Pryd here during SI times so a few pointers..

Bring Ice Wizzes (2 reasons will expain below)

Respawn rate has been decreased since I last did it but it was still a case of all Shield tanks body pulling then /target (main Wiz) and stick (Main Wiz is you Pbaoe Box target..)

Encounters

Tbh most are very easy apart from the last one with NF RA like DI should be even easier.

Queen and Advisor are the only semi hard ones .. basicly its 2 epics mobs at one time. Queen is basicly the same as the 4th (?) mob in sidi very high absord and Big 2h sword that hits for 800+. The advisor is a basic fire nuker but teleports around the room (he also teleports inside the wallas and nukes from there. There is a fire pit in the middle of the room that they will throw people into this can be destoryed with Ice damage spells .. but only Ice damage.

So basicly

2 tanks and clerics off tank Queen while rest DPS on Advisor. Have a group take out the fire pit (Ice Wiz/Therg). Try to stay in the middle of the room and pull back the advisor if he looks like hes gonna port into a wall.

Other ones that I can remember is some friar and 5 students (Zerg it) some Blob that keeps spawning adds (zerg it plus Pbaoe).

Got some screenies of it lying around at home will try to post them later.

Thx again to all for the info and advice :]

I doubt at this time i will get the chance to do the quest myself before the raid as I actually thought I was gona be out all weekend and so made the raid for tomorrow giving me little time. I did manage to do a recon mission into Krondon with a necro / cleric today and almost got to what i think is the main room. Final corridor was packed to the nines with prpl ogres and i couldnt get past but with a BG this should be no problem. This is just gona be some fun so please dont take this first raid too serious. If it works out that we do need quests and stuff to get into the room then I will redo the entire raid and make sure that any pre-req is sorted first. Hopefully we can head in kill some cons and have a good time :] and if it really ends up sucking that hard I will find some personal item to lotto at the end to make it worth while =)

Last year, can't remember exactly when, we tried to do this too.We all, or at least me and some others, did the prequest. But unfortunatly we stranded at the end.
I still have the quest item and quest on my heretic, so i will join and hope we can finish it off tonight

Hey np m8, there will be another one next week

To all who made the raid.. thx for showing! it was a little shaken at first when we almost wiped to Orylle but one quick regrp and we totally kicked her teeth in. That was some seriously well played team work even at times when we were 70% down we still lived to fight on. All targets were hit and wiped and really was great fun.

Next week will be the Assult on Krondon Northern strke.. so watch this space!
