Repost from the DAoC off topic boards:

Thought I'd post it in a new thread, fo those who're going to play...

I understood Guardian is suppost to be the un-official european server.
the problem is it most likely won't be availible right at launch, so I'll start at Virtue. the server nominated to be the unofficial RP server by the beta boards.

Hope you lot will come there as well, so we can create a new Freddyshouse guild

Guardian is West coast - something that seems to be causing consternation on various forums. (so, incidentally is virtue)

East coast servers are...

Freedom
Infinity
Liberty
Pinnacle
Victory

If I decide to play it'll probably be on Victory, since my beta name got reserved there.

Guardian is westcost so its worse ping there, Victory is Eastcost better ping.

Alot of ppl are on Victory and alot on Virtue (RPserver).

Virtue, the RP server.

Since its been labeled RP, that kinda scares off the fuckwits who cant even spell "mate" correctly.

Edit fudge, they closed the open board.
A well last time I checked the poll EU players voted Victory somewhat 50%+

Rest will prolly go Virtue for RP

Rah, like a good honest customer I pre-order the game a while ago.

...and now they punish me by giving everyone else the oppourtunity to not have to wait a week or so for some stoopid delivery. Suddenly my 3 day headstart doesnt seem so exciting...

i was going to download and buy serial key but for 51€ i went with www.dvdboxoffice.com and should get it in only 2 days with dhl service. btw the 51€ already includes it.

why? because since its the same price for an electronic key. i would rather have a shiny cd+ manual + whatever goods are in the box

oh yeah like i said i should go to victory. i like rp but im more afraid of &%$& americans roleplaying all the time than what may i find on victory.

Very much so - bought a code last night to see what all the noise was about (I missed the beta ), and I can say it's suitably impressive! Massive manual tho (79Mb! ) if you buy the code/download version.

no real need for the manual tho. the tutorial is fairly good, and the community in-game is generally rather helpfull

CoH is not only a lot of fun, but probably the first mmog where I didn't wander around confused for the first 30 minutes (or more, in the case of some mmogs)

still no consensus on server though? seems a toss up between virtue and victory but i've checked forums etc and there seems to be a fair amount of euro players and some superteams on both either way
