Renderer Creation Failed

I keep getting Renderer Creation Failed when trying to play ToA, after the login bit at select server. I've tried restarting

using XP and G Force 2, it worked before i formatted...

It's a driver/DirectX issue
Firlsty make sure you are using the latest version of the drivers for your card.
You can get the reference drivers from here. Once you've done that reinstall DirectX 9. You can either download it from Here or install it from the ToA cd1.
If you are already using the latest reference drivers then try the website of your graphics card manufacturer and get the latest drivers from there, they should be optimised for your specific card rather than being the standard drivers for a reference board. Once you've updated the drivers then reinstall DirectX as before.
