Decided to go for a nice long Sunday run. Got about 3/4 of a mile into it and turned my right foot over on uneven ground. Heard a 'pop' sound and a fair bit of pain went through my foot and leg. After a minute or 2 I decided to carry on with my run. There was this niggling pain everytime my foot hit the floor. After 1/2 a mile I decided I had better take a look as that strange noise was playing on my mind a bit. Took a look and a large lump was between my little toe and ankle. Also another odd looking lump closer to my toe. Kind of realized then that I had broken a bone. By the time I got home my foot was hurting a fair bit.
Fractured. My foot is bandaged up now. I have to go back in a few days time to see if I need it in plaster. Oddly enough I haven't been in much pain. Was hours before I had the xray yet I hardly felt much discomfort and I hadn't taken any pain killers? Hope this isn't a bad sign.
Oh well so much for my goal of running another marathon - for now anyways.
