Interested to see where everyone ends up, lost interested when most of it was going to be in scenarios, but since the Open World PvP Keeps and Sieges podcast it's grown far more appealing

Heya fellow ex-euro-daoc fans(/freaks),

I've been cruising over this thread seeing lots of nice info for the future, although we need to get things settled a bit more. People claiming to know which side will be most favored by the daoc guilds are really talking without solid information. I'm seeing enough order/destruction votes to make these claims pretty useless to base your choice on.

The White Roses initiative is awesome, altho I think not all guilds who posted here are already in there (yes even some who posted before the last update).
Keeping this up to date is a keypoint in our way to another awesome daoc-wise new MMORPG adventure. But I'm sure this won't be a problem because of the great effort some people make for this. (for which we all owe them a big thank you!)

Although what's most important in my opinion is: what kind, and above all: WHICH server we are going to be playing.
I don't know if there's server name list yet, but we can start with deciding to go for an Open or a Core server. I would prefer the Open servers as they hold the full force of the new rvr system that mythic wants us to taste.
So far my opinion, but I hope there will be more concrete discussions about this.
I guess this forum will be flooded with suggestions when the servernames pop up, but I rather have things said.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I think I'm just so eager to get started at the launch that I already want to feel safe about which server will contain more fun than.. well.. maybe even the game itself. This way we can all start with an unconcerned feeling.

Changing servers later would be a sad thing to see because it would certainly split up the community.

I'm not really much of an ex-EU DAoC player, as I started out on NA and spent most of my time there with only brief excursions to the GOA servers. However I will be on GOA's WAR servers and would love to end up on the same server as DAoC guilds, it's one sure way to know I won't be with a bunch of unorganised noobs who couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

I just want to mention that the same thing was arranged at wow, and the server was way too overcrowded.

If an ex-DAoC guild with 10 people join a server and every member of it has at least 2 IRL friends join at the same server ( just to be together ) that makes it 30 people per guild.

If you arrange 20 guilds coming x 30 people that makes it 600 MORE people at that server, and i am pretty sure that u wont have only 10 people per guild as well as u wont have only 2 IRL friends coming.

If we take myself for an example, i have about 15 IRL friends that are not in the same guild but they will come to the same server just to be together.

I hope you try to consider my thoughts, and try to find a solution for that, cause i dont wanna play in an overcrowded server .

i would think that when the server list is known then the arrangements will be made

Hah that made me laugh, I am a WR member and an officer and I can tell you we have nowhere near 800 members, don't even know where those numbers came from.

As far as getting old DaoC guilds together.
We are trying to to set up a list with guilds interested in joining the same server and our main goal is to make thing as balanced as possible for everyone.

If its OB servers or live servers one can only guess though.
